I hear this a lot.

But the brain isn’t designed for constant happiness.
It’s designed to keep you safe.

So when you’ve been stressed or anxious for a while, your system can get stuck on high alert.

And when that starts to settle…

You don’t become happy all the time.

You become more flexible.

You still feel emotions —
but they pass through more easily.

Less spiralling.
Less getting stuck.
More balance.

So those “wobbly days”?

They’re not failure.

This is will be a relaxed, low-pressure social space for neurodivergent adults - whether you are diagnosed, self-identified, exploring neurodivergence, or simply recognise that your mind works a little differently.

Many people find typical social environments quite overwhelming, so the aim of this space is simply to create somewhere calm 😌, welcoming and understanding where people can connect in whatever way feels comfortable.

What to expect:
• A small, low-pressure gathering
• No introductions, structured activities or group sharing
• You’re free to chat with others, sit quietly, or bring something along and do your own thing
• Stay for a short time or the full session - whatever feels comfortable
• Drop in (or out) at any point during the evening

We also understand that trying something new can feel a little uncertain. There’s no pressure to arrive at a certain time, stay for the full duration, or interact in any particular way.

Our hope is simply to create a supportive little community where neurodivergent adults can feel comfortable being themselves.

Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy is designed to support the brain out of that constant state of alert.

It’s a modern, neuroscience-informed approach that combines solution-focused therapy with guided relaxation to support the nervous system to settle and help the brain begin building calmer, more helpful thinking patterns over time.

Is your teenager overwhelmed with exams right now? (15+)

This is something I see a lot around GCSE and A-Level time.
Many teenagers genuinely want to do well… but the pressure builds and their brain goes into overwhelm mode.

Instead of revising they might:
• procrastinate
• avoid starting work
• sit scrolling on their phone
• get stuck in their own head

From the outside it can sometimes look like they’re not trying.
But very often their nervous system is simply too stressed to think clearly.

When the brain is in a stress response, it becomes harder to organise thoughts, plan revision, or even get started.

In my work with teenagers aged 15+, I focus on helping the brain settle first.

Using Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy, we guide the mind into a relaxed alpha state, where the nervous system feels calmer and the brain becomes more flexible again.

From there we use a solution-focused approach to help them:
• focus on their strengths
• quieten the overthinking
• break revision into small, manageable steps
• move forward with more confidence.

Many teens don’t need huge changes - they simply need support getting out of overwhelm and back into a calmer, clearer mindset.

Men's performance anxiety

On your own, everything works.
But with a partner… it changes.

Your mind gets louder.
You start monitoring yourself.
You try to control it.

And they’re rarely about ability.

They’re usually about pressure.

A small announcement 🌱

After four years of training and ongoing placement work, I’ll soon be fully qualified to offer counselling and more in-depth psychotherapy, alongside my existing hypnotherapy practice.

My approach will be pluralistic and person-centred at its core, meaning the work is shaped around you rather than a one-size-fits-all model.

Alongside Person-Centred counselling, I draw on CBT-informed approaches to explore the relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and psychodynamic-informed approaches to consider how past experiences and unconscious patterns may influence present-day feelings and relationships, using techniques where appropriate.

Why this matters?

Because people are different. What supports one person may not support another, and having a flexible, informed approach allows the work to adapt to your needs, goals and pace.

I’ll be sharing more about this as the qualification date approaches, but I wanted to gently let you know what’s coming, and how this broader way of working may support those who are looking for counselling, psychotherapy, or a blended approach alongside hypnotherapy.
