What an amazing place, Berlin was a fascinating city to visit and the half marathon was just as brilliant 🤩 Part of the Superhalf series made up of 6 events, it was my first one and the furthest I have run/walked since November 2024 so I was over the moon just to finish 😃 It was such good fun, the crowds were amazing and I loved all their supportive signs. It was gloriously sunny and warm-ish after some bitterly cold days leading up to it, it was fabulous 😃 Also quite fitting being the 45th edition of the race and my last race as a 45 year old 😬🥴😂

Battersea park was the destination for my 💯 parkrun location, a Mecca for runners with 1200 parkrunners as well as 100’s of other runners swamping the park on Saturday morning, it was brilliant 🤩 a flat and fast course and my first 5k non stop run since October 🙌🏻 And a stop off at the Battersea dogs and cats home cafe for a post run brunch was a treat too 😄 ☕️ 🐾 I love visiting different parkruns, they are all so welcoming, friendly and inclusive, it’s my favourite special place that I look forward to every week and I’ve met so many lovely people through my parkrun touring. I am super grateful to my amazing friends who keep me company on my touristing journey who understand it’s not just totally bonkers 🤪 It’s an adventure every week, it’s so much fun and I can’t wait to see where the next 💯 take me 🏃‍♀️💕🎉

It was so soggy, wet and miserable but I didn’t care, I got to take part in a race 😀 First race since round one of cross country in November which finished my knees off! My first time at Winter London 10k, it was a lovely brilliantly organised event with a great course, amazing marshals and runners of all abilities. I was super happy to slosh my way around with a walk/run and now praying for less injuries and better running times ahead 🙏🏻

Throwback Thursday…
My fastest ever 10k race, the ladies only Candleford Canter, organised by with an awesome green woolly finishers hat which I still have! Just over 10 years ago, I ran the multi terrain race in 51.26, a time which seems absolutely impossible now especially as the last few years have been very unkind and I’ve been plagued by injuries which have prevented me from producing my best 😔 I am now recovering from tendinitis in both of my knees 😩 but have been able to build up some walk/running and hope to take part in the Winter London 10k next week all being well 🤞🏻 my first race of the year 😀
