We are looking for a part time Dispensing Optician / Experienced Dispenser for our Independent practice in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Lots of time with patients, good quality frames and lenses. Doing the right thing for the patient biggest priority.

Regular days (1 to 4 days available) or occasional cover.

We are just wanting to increase days open, so not looking for emergency locum but for regular days.

We’ve been told that our facebook hours seem to imply we are closed.
We can’t find that ourselves, but just posting here so no one is worried.

There should be no hours showing at all as we are a By Appointment practice.

Please contact to find out our days & hours and book if you need to come in. We are most often there on Wed, Thurs and Fri, with some prebooked Sat and Tues and this varies week to week.

We recommend calling or emailing to book, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Email does tend to be faster than phone calls.

Thinking today of the families of the two lost firefighters and member of public, and of those still in hospital after the fire. Many of our patients work at or have connections with Bicester Motion / Heritage and we are thinking of you all.

I still can’t find an author, (now have it thanks Jane F - Haydee Waldron Jones) but as someone shared this post it reminded me, and wanted to reshare for all our patients out there who have exams. We have Be your own kind of beautiful as one of our mottos here, but also add that exams don’t always show potential especially for some of our patients who find sitting still or reading the question incredibly hard - Be your own kind of clever. We’ll be proud of you whatever happens, just do your best. Best of luck to all of you.

We have ongoing issues with BT and are intermittently losing the voicemail and internet access. This is outside of the practice and so out of our control.

Please be aware we may not get the message or missed call notification while we wait for them to fix it. It may not even ring in the practice.

For anyone missing our Sheep St Neighbours Home @ 96, they have a room upstairs at the Crafter’s Emporium - go past till and turn round and up secret stairs. It’s well worth it! Lovely to see them back.
