You don’t need to be fit to do yoga.
You do yoga to get fit.

That’s the point.

I remember being pregnant and not feeling comfortable in my body at all.
Tight. Restricted. Unsettled.
Everyone talks about relaxin softening the body… but for me it felt like the opposite.

I once heard pregnancy described as feeling like a piece of wet leather that’s been left to dry out.
That landed hard.
Because that’s exactly how I felt in my body.

I was uncomfortable.
Living with acid reflux.
Just getting through the days.

What changed things for me was Thai pregnancy massage.
An over-the-clothes, supportive, deeply nurturing treatment that finally made me feel human again.
Like I could breathe.
Like I could take on another day.

That experience is a big part of why I now offer pregnancy Thai massage myself.

Struggling with balance in class?
Or that moment where your leg just won’t stay lifted?

This is one of my go-to drills for building real balance and thigh strength — not just flinging the leg and hoping for the best.

A few kicks to find the height.
Then the work begins.

Instead of kicking from the hip, think hug the thigh into the socket.
Belly gently pulls in.
Lower back lengthens.
Standing leg grounds.
Thighs squeeze.

Kick.
Kick.
Hold.
Breathe.
Release.
Repeat.

Do this consistently and your balances start to feel lighter, steadier and way more controlled.
Progress isn’t instant — it’s built over time, one rep at a time.

Ever pressed the point between your thumb and index finger?

It’s one of my favourite spots in Thai massage because it does so much with so little.
If you get head tension, jaw tightness or that dull ache behind the eyes… this point is gold.

Firm pressure. Slow breath.
Hold for 20–30 seconds and feel everything start to settle.

It’s simple.
It’s effective.
And it’s something you can do anywhere — work, home, school run, in the car before you go into that meeting.

Everyone always says, “wow your locust is so strong… how do you do that?”
Well… it took time. Patience. Persistence. And honestly? A bit of obsession.

I still remember my Bikram teacher training in 2013. Watching people come up onto their shoulders for the first time and thinking: holy hell… I want to do that.

So I did what I always do when I want something.
I asked questions.
I watched the people who were already doing it.
I went to their workshops and intensives.
I put in the extra hours outside of class.

Things slowly got stronger. My understanding changed. My body adapted. And with some phenomenal coaching and a lot of stubborn dedication, I finally lifted onto my shoulders three years later.

I didn’t just turn up to class and hope it would magically happen. I did the work.

And now? Postpartum… I’m figuring it all out again in a new body.
Because nothing is linear.
Nothing is something you “tick off” and keep forever.

Life shifts. Your body shifts. But if you want something—really want it—find the people who know, ask the questions, and put in the extra work.

It’s all achievable.
Just not always on the timeline you first imagined. ❤️
