🌟 What a fantastic day at Cornwall Mobility!

We hosted an in-depth Seating & Positioning Training session today. It was full of live demos, hands-on setups, and clinical insights to help optimise comfort, stability, and function for users.

Huge thanks to the incredibly knowledgeable Ádner Silva (our European Product Specialist) for leading the session and sharing his expertise. Grateful to everyone who joined us in Truro for the interactive discussions and practical learning!

The Edge 3 Stretto is available with paediatric seating from 10"-14" width and 10-"-14" depth, making it the perfect choice for children and teens.

Last week Andy and Simon, our Stealth Products Specialists, completed a Q6 Edge 2.0 handover with Doncaster NHS for a client living with MND.

Due to very limited hand movement, a standard joystick was not suitable. The client was unable to move the joystick far enough forwards or to the right to achieve consistent drive control.

To address this, the chair was fitted with a MoVis Multi 9 joystick. The reduced joystick throw allows smaller hand movements to generate proportional responses, improving access and control.

Elbow supports were also prescribed to maintain upper limb positioning, particularly in tilt, preventing the arms from sliding posteriorly and reducing fatigue during use.

Following setup and adjustments, the client is now able to drive his chair independently.

This case highlights how alternative drive controls and positioning supports can work together to maintain functional independence, even as presentation changes.

Join us for hands-on Seating and Control Training on 3–4 February at Pride HQ, Bicester. This practical, in-person session is designed for anyone involved in seating, mobility, and control solutions, from clinicians and therapists to suppliers and support teams.

You will work with live product setups 🛠️, build confidence in seating and control decisions, and explore real-world solutions that can be applied straight into practice.

👉 Day 1 focuses on seating and positioning, covering physical evaluation, fixed and flexible support, and the use of belts, trunk, and head supports, with an emphasis on comfort, stability, and everyday function.

👉 Day 2 is a practical session on Q-Logic and alternative controls, including the Enhanced Display, SCIM module, software, iAccess, and options such as head arrays, fibre optics, and sip and puff, all focused on matching control solutions to individual needs.

Attend one day or both days depending on your role and focus 📅

A great example of collaboration in action 💪

Working alongside Modern Mobility, this bespoke ergonomic joystick top was designed and 3D printed with support from our technical team to improve comfort and control. A half spring was used to reduce throw, with Curtis Instruments ECON used to programme the drive settings, all tailored to the this user.
