Come on ladies! Come and join us on this fun and informative course and gain the information you need to kick menopause’s ass! No matter what stage you’re at, come and meet other ladies in the same journey for a fun surf session (complete beginners welcome and all equipment included) and then sit down with a snack and a drink whilst Loren, our qualified menopause coach shares her knowledge with you. September dates dropped! Our new menopause course has landed for September. If you are menopausal, peri-menopausal or just want to get ahead of the game to make that transition as smooth as possible, this course is for you. We have partnered with and to bring you this fun and informative 4 week course. You don’t need to have surfed before, al equipment is included, we have wetsuits to fit everyone and it’s run by an all female team. There is nothing to stop you! We have 3 spaces available on our Young Carer sessions that run on Saturday afternoon.
These sessions are fully funded thanks to the generosity of Sport England.
In order to qualify, you must be 8-18 and be a young carer for a loved one.
These sessions provide some much needed ‘me time’ out of the caring environment, meeting and socialising with other young carers in the community.
These sessions will run all through the year until November. All equipment is included.

Tonight I went out-out to the Northam Town Council Charity Awards evening. North Devon Surf Therapy has been awarded a grant to support children from the most deprived households in our community in accessing the beach and surfing. We are so proud to be working with the schools in our community to improve the mental and physical health of our young people and we are really excited to get them in the water

News just in!! We are delighted to announce that TNLCommunityFund have awarded us funding to run our ever popular over 55’s sessions starting after Easter.
We are just working out the logistics, but would love to hear from you if you’d like to find out more.
To be eligible you need:
✅ to be over 55
✅ be reasonably fit (you need to walk to the water carrying a surfboard with another person
✅ be able to commit to the majority of the sessions which will run weekly until November, excluding school holidays
✅ be confident in chest high water

Everything you need is included and there is nothing to stop you! Spaces are limited to The National Lottery Community Fund gone.

2 years ago we launched our 1st project which was funded by Active Devon 'Connecting Actively with Nature' which was an initiative to encourage community members over the age of 55 to engage with sport in nature. The project was initially for 12 weeks and we had an overwhelming amount of interest. Our first group of surfers all loved the sport and it is safe to say the project was a resounding success. 2 years on and Surf Therapy staff were invited out to a meal at Belluno's in Bideford. These guys have set up a What's App group and get together regularly to surf or meet up for socials, which is exactly what the original project hoped to achieve.
These guys remind me of The Ex-Presidents from the film Point Break. Although I don't think any of them are bank robbing sky divers, they are constantly monitoring Surfline and as soon as the waves look half decent, the message goes out and they decend on the beach in Westward Ho!
We are extremely lucky to have met such a wonderful group of people, and we are hoping to secure further funding to run sessions in 2025 🏄🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️

We are beyond excited to announce that Sport England 💖 have awarded us funding to continue our Adult Carer surf sessions 🏄‍♂️🏄🏄‍♀️ to start after February half term 🥰
If you are over 18 and you are a carer for a loved one, please get in touch with us.
We have sessions running on a Tuesday and a Thursday, weekly from Feb - Nov excluding school holidays.
Spaces are limited and will go quickly!
These sessions will give you:
🏄 dedicated 'me' time
🏄 an opportunity to meet other carers
🏄 a chance to form new friendships
🏄 new skills to learn
🏄 fresh air and exercise
🏄 increased fitness and strength
🏄 a chance to have some fun!
These seasons are open to new and previous surfers.
You don't have to have surfed before, and as long as you're a carer, we will be happy to have you! There is no age limit and we have wetsuits to fit all shapes and sizes, so there is nothing to stop you!!
