🐾 A heartwarming Tuesday at Highwood Care Home!

Our wonderful window cleaner popped by with his adorable 14-month-old puppy, Freddie, for a special visit. 🐶💖 Freddie brought so many smiles and plenty of tail wags—what a joy to have such a sweet little visitor!

In the afternoon, we were thrilled to welcome the Duke of Edinburgh volunteers, who are working on a secret project for the Kingsley community. 🤫✨ They teamed up with our Wellbeing Team member Kerry for some exciting collaboration, and we can’t wait to see what they’ve been working on. It’s always a pleasure to see our community come together for such meaningful projects.

🌟 What a fantastic start to the week at Highwood Care Home! 🎉

Our Tuesday kicked off with a fun BSL (British Sign Language) class, where our residents were learning all about fruit 🍎🍓🍊. It’s amazing to see how quickly they’re picking it up, and now they’re even singing to each other in sign language! 🎶 The activities team is definitely on their toes, but it's all worth it for the smiles and laughter. 🙌

In the afternoon, we switched things up with a lovely flower arranging session! 💐 Freya from the local florist was on hand to offer expert advice, and our residents created some beautiful arrangements that are now brightening up the home. 🌸🌿 A big thank you to Freya for making it extra special!

🌼 A Lovely Day at Highwood! 🌼

We started our morning with some relaxing arts and crafts, followed by a peaceful stroll and time spent enjoying our beautiful gardens. 🌿✨

Our residents then took part in a gentle yoga session — a perfect way to stretch, unwind, and start the day with calm and positivity. 🧘‍♀️💛

The highlight of the afternoon was a visit from Leo the bunny, who brought so much joy, laughter, and cuddles to everyone! 🐰💗 A huge thank you to Jo, our wonderful team member, who came in on her day off just to share Leo with us. Your kindness means the world to our residents and team. 🌟

✨ Saturday Trip Down Memory Lane ✨

Today our Kingsley and Grenville communities came together for a wonderful journey back to the 1940s! 🎶🎬

With songs, films and memories of the lifestyle of the era, our residents enjoyed sharing stories, singing along, and reminiscing together. A big thank-you to Lynda from our Wellbeing Team for guiding such a warm and meaningful session. ❤️

It was a beautiful reminder that the past lives on through the memories we share. 🌟

We’ve had a good old session of bingo this week with Kerry and Lynda from our amazing Wellbeing Team! 🩵

🌟 Highwood Care Home 🌟

We’ve had such a lovely week so far! Our wonderful volunteer Shirley has been in teaching us British Sign Language (BSL) — with a special focus on food signs this time 🍎🍞☕️

Everyone had so much fun learning together, and it was fantastic to see our residents picking up new signs and sharing lots of laughs along the way. Thank you, Shirley, for another amazing and interactive session! 💛

We were so lucky to have the incredibly talented Mr. Peter Mash visit Highwood Care Home!🎤 His beautiful singing lifted everyone's spirits and brought smiles all around. 😊

Peter's performance was extra special as he is a proud supporter of the Cancer Research charity, and we are grateful for his dedication to such an important cause. 💖

🌼 A Fun-Filled Day at Highwood! 🌼

Yesterday was a lovely day for our residents here at Highwood! We started the morning with our Gardening Club, where everyone got their hands a little muddy and their hearts full of joy tending to our plants and flowers. 🌱🌸

In the afternoon, we were treated to some fantastic entertainment from Dolly, one of our wonderful volunteers, who came in to play and sing for everyone. 🎶 Thank you, Dolly, for always bringing so many smiles! 💛

And of course, we couldn’t end the day without a celebration — it was Jo’s birthday! 🎂 Jo is one of our amazing Care Assistants, and everyone joined in to sing Happy Birthday and share in the celebrations. 🥳

A big thank you to everyone who made the day so special — our residents, team, and volunteers truly make Highwood feel like home. ❤️
