Congratulations to everyone at Kingsley School Bideford, all the pupils and staff, for being shortlisted for the Green Award in the coveted Independent Schools of the Years 2021 Awards.

It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce that Kingsley has been shortlisted for the 'Green Award' in the Independent Schools of the Year 2021 Awards.

Independent Schools of the Year finalists will be revealed on 7 September, and judges will then meet again to decide on the winner of each category. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in October.

Well done to everyone at Kingsley on this success. Congratulations on the great work done at the Earth Centre and across the school to maintain our excellence in sustainability and environmental education for our pupils.

I am delighted to be heading to G7 tomorrow with Cleaner Seas Group showcasing the best in class microfibre filter innovation for washing machines, talking about future global solutions.

Cleaner Seas Group (CSG) was set up in the SW to rid the environment of microplastic pollution. Micro and nano plastics are omnipresent in our water cycle, the air we breathe and the food we eat. The company are developing global market technology products that remove micro and nano plastics from the environment.

Earth Day 2021

Today, Earth Day, prompts us all to re-evaluate our priorities and environmental values. Fortunately I was at today, a place where everyday is treated like Earth Day. Prep pupils were planting potatoes today, one of the maths classes took place in a daisy field, nursery pupils were growing seeds, and all the senior school pupils headed to one of the lower school fields this afternoon where over 2,500 trees have just been planted. Each pupil was invited to choose one of the saplings to look after during their time at Kingsley. It was touching to see some pupils immediately pouring water on their sapling from their school waterbottle.
