🌸 Mother’s Day at Kenwith Castle 🌸

This Sunday, we welcomed all our resident's families into the home for a delightful cream tea. It was a lovely afternoon shared by everyone, filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of sweet treats!

March has already been full of music, creativity, and smiles in the home! 🎶🎨

Our residents have enjoyed wonderful performances from the Shanty Band and Jed, bringing plenty of music and a great atmosphere. Everyone has also been getting creative, making beautiful new table centrepieces that turned out fantastic.

Some of our residents also enjoyed a lovely trip to the garden centre, where they had a great time looking at all the Easter displays and seasonal decorations. 🌸🐣

The home is starting to look very decorative as residents have been decorating the Mother’s Day trees and kicking off the Easter celebrations, helping Nicky place some naughty little bunnies around the home! 🐰

We also had a lovely visit from Bella the PAT dog, who as always was a firm favourite with everyone. 🐶💛

A huge congratulations to Matt for being awarded Employee of the Month! 👏

Matt has been part of our Kenwith family for around six months now and has quickly become a valued and extremely appreciated member of the team. Working as part of our two-man maintenance team here at Kenwith, Matt consistently gives his all and approaches every task with positivity and professionalism.

Nothing is ever too much trouble — he’s happy, kind, thoughtful, and always willing to go the extra mile.

February has been a busy and joyful month here at Kenwith Castle!

Our residents have enjoyed Valentine’s Day celebrations, Chinese New Year festivities, and of course, Pancake Day! 🥞🎉

For Pancake Day, residents had great fun decorating their pancakes — creating some lovely designs and very funny faces! There were lots of smiles and laughter throughout the activity, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who took part.

Another wonderful month filled with creativity, celebration, and togetherness at Kenwith Castle. ❤️

🐉 Kenwith Castle Celebrates Chinese New Year! 🏮

Our residents recently came together and asked for a Chinese takeaway — so we decided to incorporate it into our Chinese New Year celebrations!

The day began with residents decorating our celebration tree, bringing lots of colour and creativity to the occasion. 🎨✨

In the evening, everyone enjoyed a delicious Chinese takeaway together, and it’s safe to say it went down a treat! 🥢🥡

There were lots of smiles, full plates, and very happy residents. A wonderful way to celebrate together! ❤️

Our incredible a team went above and beyond this Valentine’s Day! 🌹

Residents enjoyed a beautiful photo tree, celebrating past loved ones with cherished memories and an afternoon of reminiscing. 🖼️✨

The main dining room was beautifully decorated, and some of our resident couples were surprised with a special Valentine’s dinner. The evening was filled with love, kindness, and the sharing of wonderful memories. 🥂💌

⚽ Angela’s Football Wish ⚽

Angela, a lifelong Watford supporter, has always loved football. She has traveled all over the world to watch matches and has even met the team! Recently, Angela had the chance to fulfill her wish of going to a football match again. While we couldn’t get her to Watford this time, she had an amazing experience watching Bideford play.

Angela loved feeling the atmosphere, cheering with excitement, and being part of the match-day energy. She was joined by Rob, another resident and passionate football fan who supports Brentford and used to play for Appledore. Seeing both residents so engaged and enjoying themselves was truly wonderful.

It was a fantastic time full of smiles, laughter, and the joy of football – moments like these really highlight the happiness and community spirit that sports can bring. 💛🙌

🌟 Make a Wish – Grayce 🌟

Grayce used to be a keen bowls player, representing her local team for many years. As part of her Make a Wish, we contacted @ Kingsley Indoor Bowling Club, who very kindly invited Grayce and some of her friends to come along and watch a match. It was wonderful for her to enjoy the game again.

The club has since invited us back, and a date will be arranged for Grayce to play bowls again using their adaptive frames and wheelchairs, supporting people with reduced mobility to continue enjoying the sport.

Grayce had a fantastic time, and we are incredibly grateful to Kingsley Bowls Club for their kindness and support 💙
