We had a brilliant time at our Summer Garden Party on Saturday 26th July 2025 – and we want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to support the fun! 🥳💐🎶

🎉👏👏 A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to these three incredible ladies who SMASHED the 26-mile challenge 💪💪💪 and raised £1500 for a fantastic cause! 💰❤

They powered through a breathtaking route that took them across the steep climbs of Cleeve Common 🏞⛰—reaching the highest point in the Cotswolds at 330m! 😮🌄

👣 The journey offered spectacular views over Cheltenham and the Malvern Hills 🌿🌞, and meandered through the precious habitats of the Common 🐦🌼.

🌳 They even walked through the historic grounds of Sudeley Castle 🏰 before joining the Cotswold Way to complete their heroic trek! 🎯🥾🌍

Staying hydrated is essential at any age, but especially for older adults. Dehydration can be tricky to spot, but it's important to know the signs, causes, and ways to support hydration at home.

🚨 Why Are Older Adults More at Risk?

• Not drinking enough due to reduced thirst or difficulty swallowing.
• Health conditions and medications can increase fluid loss.
• Memory issues may lead to forgetting to drink.
• Limited mobility can make it hard to get water or reduce toilet trips.

🔍 Signs to Watch For:

• Dry mouth, lips, or tongue
• Dark yellow urine or going to the toilet less
• Tiredness, dizziness, or confusion
• Dry, thin skin or irritability

💡 Practical Tips to Help Stay Hydrated:

• Offer regular small sips of water or a variety of drinks like herbal teas or squash.
• Serve water-rich meals like soups, fruits, or ice lollies.
• Keep drinks within easy reach and use reminders.
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol as they increase fluid loss.

If confusion, a racing heartbeat, or no urine for 8 hours occur, it's time to call for medical advice.

Sara and Sally are taking on Trek26 for Alzheimer's Society!

On Saturday 5th July, we’ll be lacing up our walking boots and trekking 26 miles in support of the Alzheimer’s Society — a cause that’s incredibly close to our hearts.

Why are we doing this? Because dementia should never be faced alone.

Alzheimer’s Society is working tirelessly towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They provide vital help for those living with dementia right now and bring hope for the future through relentless campaigning and life-changing research.

Thanks to our wonderful team and residents, we’ve added colourful new flowers, fresh planters, vibrant benches, and some lovely decorations to get everything looking just perfect. 🌼🌿
