‘One of my favorite parts of the class is when we visualize the energy in our hands and move in a way that builds the energy, it’s like my whole body is alive and tingling, it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Totally cool and I love Lianas energy as she encourages us to go for it.’

Mobility Matters 🦵

How important do you think it is to maintain your mobility as you age and what activities do you enjoy that keep you moving?

As the cold weather sets in, it’s all too easy to slip into your cosiest clothes, snuggle under a blanket, and hibernate until Spring.

That’s probably one of the worst things you can do for your physical and mental health and here’s why:

Cold and dark days can lead to seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Regular physical activity, like Yin Qigong and Yoga, releases endorphins and promotes a more positive outlook, helping you combat the winter blues.

Staying active can strengthen your immune system, making you less susceptible to winter bugs & illnesses. Gentle movement and breathwork can support your body’s natural defenses.

Long periods of inactivity can lead to stiffness and decreased flexibility. Yin Qigong focuses on gentle stretching and movement, helping to keep your body limber and agile through the colder months.

It might seem counterintuitive, but engaging in regular movement can actually boost your energy levels. Yin Qigong helps to circulate energy throughout the body, leaving you feeling revitalised and alert.

Winter can feel isolating, but joining a group like Yin Qigong not only encourages physical health but also builds a supportive community. Making new connections can greatly improve your social well-being.

Rather than retreating into hibernation, consider booking a session of Yin Qigong this Sunday from 16:00-17:30
