Back in social media action!

🧠WHERE HAVE WE BEEN?! 🧠
❎There has been a social media break for nearly two years!!❎

I have been busy raising my son from a tiny baby into a strapping nearly two year old!

While business has thankfully kept ticking on, because of recommendations from my amazing past clients 🫶,
It is starting to feel like I have the time, mental and physical capacity to pick my social media game back up and start sending important information about birth related PTSD back out there into the world!

I hope you're happy to see us back posting!🥳

***** BRAND NEW 5 STAR REVIEW!! ***** Please take a second to have a read and then get in touch to see how we could help you too!

"It's taken me a while to find the words to write this review because I just didn't know how I would be able to do Harriet justice. Here's what I have come up with -
My sessions with Harriet have, without doubt, changed my life for the better.
It took me over 4 and a half years to admit to myself that I needed to talk to someone about my son's birth. After all, I had a healthy baby at the end of it so surely I should just be grateful, right?
After my daughter's much more "to plan" birth a few years later I couldn't understand why I was still experiencing the long lasting effects of birth trauma. After all, I had "fixed" the problem by delivering my daughter the way I wanted to. That should be enough, right?
It's hard to explain what Harriet does - it's a type of magic really. An amazing woven net of listening and talking, and explaining how your brain works, which has resulted in me feeling stronger and more empowered, not only about birth but about my body and my mindset too.
Since finishing my sessions I have felt a sense of calm I hadn't realised I'd lost. I've stopped certain anxious behaviours I hadn't realised I'd developed and I've reconnected my mind and my body so I can feel like me again.
Four and half years is a long time to wait to get help and I hope you won't wait as long as me. But if you do, rest assured that you will be in safe, supportive, caring and professional hands with Harriet. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Good luck on your journey if you're reading this and considering giving it a go - there is no doubt in my mind that you should go for it.
Love Charlie x"

Experiencing suicidal thoughts can be terrifying! They can also be a "normal" response to experiencing trauma. You can be left feeling as though there is no escape, but there is.

You can stop suicidal thoughts from taking hold of you by talking about them, understanding what they mean and where they come from.

If those thoughts have previously turned into attempted actions you can still come back from them, you can still move forwards from them and thoughts of su***de no longer need to rule your life.

Suicidal thoughts are nothing to be ashamed of. They can be a normal response to the stresses of your trauma. Don't suffer alone, reach out and get some help to get back control 🧠💗

When suffering PTSD your entire body and mind suffer together one feeding the reaction of the other.

The tingling and pins and needles are thought to be due to changes to your cardiac rhythm and hyperventilation - two very normal bodily reactions to the stress response you experience during PTSD.

If you are suffering any symptoms of PTSD please just get in touch to see how we can help you to take back control of your body and mind 🧠💗

Is your sleep difficult to get and when you get it is it disturbed?

Disturbance to sleep routines is a symptom of PTSD.

In order to sleep we need to reduce our levels of Adrenaline and allow our levels of Adenosine to rise beyond the point that Adrenaline keeps us awake.

The difficulty with sleep and PTSD is that the traumatised brain isn't designed to "turn off" and reduce the level of adrenaline you are experiencing (especially at the most evolutionarily dangerous time of day - night).

This can mean that as you begin to drift off to sleep your brain reminds you at this point of your trauma increasing your adrenaline and reducing your ability to sleep. Or, you may find you managed to get to sleep but then the dreams you experience (whether you always remember them or not) cause a spike in adrenaline as yet another reminder of your trauma and the fact your brain sees you as being in danger, you wake.

If your sleep is being disturbed by your brain racing and traumatic memories whirling - know you don't have to suffer any longer. If you treat the trauma your sleep will improve and in turn as your sleep improves so does every other aspect of your health.

Anxiety...what is it to you?

Anxiety has a massive range of meaning and experience for different people. One thing that is inarguable is that anxiety is a crippling experience for those with PTSD and leaves you feeling physically out of control and constantly focusing on the worst case outcomes of an experience/situation.

Naturally, we often try and avoid the thing which make us anxious l. Unfortunately this has the effect of reinforcing the anxiety over and over again so that we react with even more anxiety each time.

If you are tired of feeling anxious and out of control, unable to maintain avoidance of the things which flare your anxiety - it might be time to consider speaking to someone professionally to get it under control and even remove it.

Mind Baby Body Birth Related Trauma Therapy can help you to do this - all you need to do is find one brave moment to get in touch 🧠💗
