Proud to announce that Handyman Andy Metcalfe has won this months national award. Andy has almost singlehandedly renovated every communal area at Wynyard Woods. He has installed a shop, a hair salon, a coffee lounge and suitable units to all of our dining rooms. He completed a huge piece of work on our dementia unit which incorporated a virtual train journey and two shop fronts complete with shop displays and lighting. The windows are then dressed to reflect the time of year by the care staff. His work is always completed to a professional standard and never fails to gain praise and attention during show arounds for prospective customers. Andy has renovated most of our lounges including the installation of classic panelling, wall lights and wall mounted TVs. He is currently working on a project to refurbish the last lounge. In addition he has removed the old built in furniture and redecorated most of our 50 individual rooms. He is active in completing health and safety and fire safety training and stays on top of all the home checks. In addition, Andy drives our residents for outings in the minibus and has assisted several of our other homes when needed. I believe he is a very deserving candidate for a colleague award.
