From Sussex Helathcare

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help health and care services by doing things that are usually be done by a person – for example, note taking during an appointment with your GP or reviewing medications dosages. AI has the potential to make a significant difference to health and care through its ability to understand and review lots of information.

In Sussex, the Digital and Data People’s Panel in partnership with health and care staff want to understand the views of people and communities on the use of AI to support early thinking on the use of AI in health and care services across Sussex.

Please complete the survey by clicking on the link below:

The survey will close on Thursday 16 January 2025.

From NHS Sussex

Dear colleagues,

As you will be aware, last year we published our five-year health and care strategy Improving Lives Together, which set out our ambition for people living across Sussex. At the same time, the Government is developing a 10-year plan to improve health and care services.

We have been asked to put this on by surgery.

‘Covid Clinic – 12 October 2024

We are aware that there were more queues for the Covid clinic last weekend than we would have liked.

We have put additional staff on to try and address this.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly and to minimise waiting times for everyone, we kindly ask that you arrive on time, but please avoid coming too early as this can cause excessive queues.’

In response to the news item below the surgery had asked us to put out the following message.

‘Regrettably Billingshurst Surgery has been impacted by this closure. Some patients may have experienced their appointments being cancelled and we would ask that if this has been the case they contact the surgery to try to rearrange these.

Unfortunately we don’t have a list of those patients who were booked and therefore can’t proactively contact the affected patients. We are working out an alternative provision, but it may take a few weeks to get this up and running.

Thank you for your patience.’

The Billingshurst surgery is part of one of 5 Primary Care Networks across West Sussex impacted by this issue. As stated in the article upto 540,000 patients across West Sussex may be impacted in some form or other.

A large GP federation covering 540,000 patients has gone bust, resulting in 130 redundancies and 'significant' disruption to patient care.

We have been asked to share the following:

‘Share your experience of Hospital Discharge

When you leave hospital after treatment, you go through a process called hospital discharge.

Healthcare professionals should work with you and the people most important to you, to ensure your transfer out of hospital is safe, appropriate, and timely. They should discuss your needs with you and how they will be met after leaving the hospital. More information is available from the NHS here.

We'd like to hear from people discharged from hospital in the last 12 months, or from their relatives, carers or friends, about their experience.

Tell us:

How involved were you in the hospital discharge process?
Did the hospital discharge process meet your needs?
What would you improve?
Closing date: midnight Monday 30th September 2024.’

Please take a few minutes to take our survey.
