Today at Highfield we celebrated and gave Thanks at our Harvest Festival with All Saints Church.
We got together with residents and families to arrange a care package for those in need in our local parish. Once bagged up we had five big shopping bags for Rev Mark Ham and Lorraine Bant to deliver to the local food bank, Store house, Birchington.
A Big Thank you to everyone that donated to a really good cause, it is very much appreciated.

Today we had a chocolate themed afternoon. We watched a short film from 1930 about the history of Cadbury followed by a film from 2024 showing the history of Cadbury and how things have changed in the last 94 years. We had a taster to see what chocolate was the best, which was a split decision between Cadbury and Galaxy.
Chocolate brownies washed down with nice cold chocolate milkshake with squirty cream and chocolate sprinkles. What better way to spend a Friday afternoon.

Wow what a week we have had at Highfield! We have been busy doing a group picture using mosaic, a sing a long and exploring different cultures. Friday was India's independence day, so we looked at the tradition of mehndi art and designed some for ourselves while listening to some Bollywood tunes, tried some Indian snacks and dips. Today we travelled virtually to South Africa in our armchairs, which was so nice to explore the different regions looking at the wildlife and sealife and beautiful scenery S. Africa has to offer. Our lovely Heather was outstanding with her help reading out some facts and history about S. Africa while everyone sipped on roobos tea and Heather's favourite tennis biscuits, we also tried some billtong, and listened to some native music.
Proof your never too old to try something different
