Today we have been thinking of people that need a hug, so we have made some Pocket hugs to put on benches in the village, after our visit to All Saints Church on Sunday.
So if your feeling sad and blue, here's a pocket hug just for you,

On Wednesday, ten of our Year 5 children visited Highfields Residential Home to make memory bracelets with the residents. Both the children and residents loved meeting, and Mr Forwood was particularly impressed by how well the children engaged with them. The children even chose to draw pictures for them before we left. Thanks for a fantastic visit Highfield Residential Home

We have been doing musical tracing maps today, using ribbons.
This helps with hand and eye coordination, which is very important in our later years, and its really fun to do and lifts our mood for the day. We followed this with funny animal videos, to create laughter, as they say laughter is the best medicine π https://youtu.be/k_7IdDqyzE4?si=htzY1HiZTwD35NnT

Today we had time to sit down and relax with a cup of tea and reminiscence about Christmas past, and then some of us attended All Saints Church Birchington, for the family Christingle service, and wow what a lovely service. The children done so well getting up in front of a packed Church, to tell us the meaning of Christingle.
We also read the poem, twas the night before Christmas, and we thought we would share this with you. Wishing all our families and friends at wonderful Christmas and a happy healthy new year.

Today we went along to church house to help with the making of Christingles. All Saints Church Birchington visit us on a regular basis, not only to do a church service and give communion, but offering emotional support to our lovely residents in their time of need. Today was about giving something back to the church and the community of Birchington. As the years go by, sometimes we lose our sense of purpose, and little things like helping others gives us purpose and helps us to feel good about ourselves, both mentally and physically.
