She’ll remember the feeling long after the contractions fade.
Support. Respect. Kindness.
These are not extras — they’re essentials in every birth space.
Birth experiences stay with women for life.
This is why continuity of care, informed choice, and gentle support aren’t luxuries — they’re human rights.✨

🍼🫶🏽 This is a lactating breast. Not cysts. Not inflammation. Not “toxic buildup.

Those little bubble-looking spaces?

They’re called alveoli and they’re where milk is made. ✨

Breasts are made up of thousands of tiny milk-producing sacs, clustered into lobules, all connected by a branching highway of ducts 🛣️🧬 that carry milk toward the ni**le.

When milk is present, those alveoli can look:
💧rounded
💧pale or white
💧full and distended

That white you’re seeing?
🥛 That’s milk.

Not stored in one big “reservoir.”

Not sitting in pockets.

Milk is made continuously in these tiny sacs and released when your body gets the signal, like baby suckling, hand expression, pumping, touch, even thinking about your baby 💞

🌸 A few important things most people were never taught:

🩸 Breasts are highly vascular, especially in pregnancy and lactation. All that blood flow supports milk production.
🧠 Milk ejection is hormonal, not mechanical. Oxytocin matters. Safety matters.
📚 This anatomy is normal. Functional. Brilliant.

So if you’ve ever seen images like this labeled as “disease,” “abnormal,” or “concerning”… that’s not your body being wrong, that’s education being missing.

✨ Your body doesn’t fail at feeding.
✨ Your breasts aren’t broken.
✨ This system has sustained human life for thousands of years.

Milk-making isn’t simple.

It’s alive, responsive, and powerful.

And it deserves to be understood, not feared. 🫶🏽🍼

♥️This is a conceptual illustration, not a literal or to-scale image of breast anatomy. It’s meant to show how milk-producing structures relate to ducts and blood supply, not what you would see in a real dissection. The physiology is real but the proportions are illustrative like what we would see in medical education all the time because real anatomy is too small, complex, and layered to photograph clearly sometimes. We often use illustrations in anatomy textbooks, lactation education, and physiology lectures.♥️

Happy 3. Birthday, Beautiful Baby Girl! Here is what Symone has to say: ✨💖💫 "My experience with pregnancy and birth was a beautiful journey, assisted by My Midwife Madelaine. My daughter is turning 3 this coming Valentine’s Day and I reflect on the first years of being a mum to beautiful Marissa, and I look back with gratitude towards the care, support and strength Madelaine has brought into my life in the time I felt most vulnerable as a woman, a mother to be.
Madelaine ethos is supporting women the way they want to be supported. She knows so much about pregnancy and birth and was always able to bring positive energy into every prenatal meeting, she listened to my concerns and answered all questions in great detail.
My birth was incredible, it was the hardest thing I ever did and many times during my labour I felt I couldn’t do it anymore. But my beautiful girl was born healthy, in the cosy setting of my home, with music playing. Madelaine was there to support me how I needed it, nothing was forced, all the decisions still belonged to me, we even danced at the beginning to the playlist I had chosen.
My birth was a truly magical experience and even though there were unexpected moments, and some changes to my original plan, I look back and I would 100% do it all again and would chose Madelaine to be by my side.
The post birth care Madelaine provided was again excellent, my breastfeeding journey began with such ease and is still going strong almost a year later. All the advice and encouragement I was given has made me confident in myself and my baby.
Madelaine even sorted out all the paperwork with the hospital, regarding registering the birth, did all the right checks and has given me information going forward and offered to always answer questions I had even after the post birth care has ended, which I didn’t need to do because I was left very informed 😊 Thank you Madelaine , you beautiful soul 🙏"

I fed my real midwifery photos into the AI trend and it came back with… this.
Perfect hair, glowing candles, a birth kit that magically organises itself, and babies who pose like models.
If only! Made me giggle this morning. 🫶🏻

“If you know, you know: midwife GPS is just a list of birth locations.”

“I can’t help it. If I’ve attended at a birth there, I’m pointing.” 🫣🤣

My journey into midwifery began before she made me a mum for the first time. But her birth taught me the essence of this work in a way that no textbook ever could. From those early days as a young midwife to now, with her by my side in the business, I’m grateful for every chapter. Happy 23rd birthday, my beautiful Felicity! ❤️

Dream team loading… 💫
First time supporting a Birmingham homebirth together, and it felt like we’d known each other forever. In a world where like-minded midwives are rare gems, we found one another—and the magic was instant.

Huge congratulations to the beautiful new family who welcomed their baby with such strength and love. It was an honour to be part of your journey 💕
