💌 A Huge Thank You to Jurassic House Clearance Company 🧡

Apple Tree House was delighted to receive a lovely Christmas card and an incredibly generous donation from Jurassic House Clearance Company.

Jurassic House Clearance is a small family business with a wonderful ethos — rehoming, recycling, and repurposing wherever possible, while always putting compassion and their clients’ needs first. Sophie from the team was personally touched by the work being done at Apple Tree House and wanted to help create even more opportunities for fun and enriching activities for the young people.

Thanks to their kindness, Apple Tree House received an amazing £200 donation, which will be used to support enjoyable and meaningful activities for the young people.

Everyone at Apple Tree House is hugely grateful to Sophie and the whole Jurassic team for their generosity and support. Thank you so much! 🧡

Blue Monday...

Today is often called Blue Monday, a day said to be the most challenging of the year.

But in care, we know that feelings don’t follow a calendar, and support shouldn’t either.

At Potens, working in a caring environment means being there for people on all kinds of days – the bright ones, the tough ones, and everything in between.

It’s about listening, showing kindness, and making space for how people are really feeling.

Whether it’s a small conversation, a shared laugh, or simply being present, our teams make a real difference every single day, not just today.

If today feels heavy, please remember: you’re not alone, and it’s always okay to talk.

🎆 Celebrating Choice and Community at Westward this New Year 🧡

At Westward, we loved seeing posts about choice on New Year’s — and we make it our mission to go above and beyond, staffing extra hours to encourage involvement, wellbeing, enrichment, and meaningful activities for everyone.

In our first picture, some of our residents are enjoying the communal space watching TV 📺, while in the second, one of our residents takes a moment in the conservatory to admire the neighbours’ Christmas lights ✨.

Residents also loved staying up late to watch the London fireworks on TV, enjoy snacks, and spend time engaging with staff — all at their own pace and choosing when to head to bed 🛌💫

Rachel, our Home Manager, highlighted how vital choice is for the people we support. Care doesn’t stop at a certain time — it’s 24/7, and ensuring that nighttime activities are possible allows everyone to enjoy meaningful experiences whenever they want 🧡

🎉 Ada Celebrates Her 27th Birthday at Manor Road 🧡

Ada, a lively young lady at Manor Road, was full of excitement as she celebrated her 27th birthday on 10 January! 🥳 She had been looking forward to this day for months, and we made sure it was packed with fun activities and special touches.

The day started with Ada unwrapping her first present — a beautiful new dress — before enjoying more gifts. She spent the morning playing board games, walking to the local café for a cup of tea (proudly wearing her birthday badge), and even made pancakes to share with her flatmate Amy 🥞. The fun continued with some dancing to Just Dance on the TV, followed by a birthday meal out with her family.

This celebration was not only about fun — it was a brilliant opportunity for Ada to showcase the social skills she’s been developing, enjoy quality time with others, and keep improving her dance moves from her weekly social group 💃

Happy Birthday, Ada! Here’s to another fantastic year full of joy and achievements 🧡
