Life is busy, and chronic pain or stress doesn't always wait for a convenient time to flare up.

Many of my clients feel they have to ‘pause’ everything just to manage their wellbeing. But what if wellness could be invisible?

As a qualified counsellor and therapist, I often teach ‘micro-habits’: small, subtle things you can do anywhere, whether you're in a meeting or the supermarket queue.

Try these today:

- The 3-Second Shoulder Drop: Inhale, then as you exhale, let your shoulders melt away from your ears. We carry so much tension there.
- The Wrist Reset: Keep a small scent roller in your pocket. A quick dab on your wrist and a deep breath grounds your nervous system in seconds.
- Posture Check-in: Soften your knees when standing or plant both feet flat when sitting. It’s a physical signal to your brain that you are stable.

These aren't ‘cures’, but they are practical tools to help you move through your day with more ease.

If you need deeper support, I offer integrated counselling and massage therapy tailored to your needs.

Pop me a DM if you'd like to chat, or book via the link below.

Ever notice how a stressful week turns into a nagging neck pain or a tight chest? That’s your nervous system trying to have a conversation with you.

In my practice, I don’t just see a “bad back.” I see a body that’s been holding onto a lot. As both a qualified counsellor and massage therapist, I’m fascinated by the bridge between what you’re thinking and what you’re feeling physically.

This is somatic healing: listening to the body to support the mind, and vice versa.

When you step into the room at Relax Therapies Wirral, we start by grounding your system. The scent of lavender and clary sage fills the air and the lighting is kept soft. It’s more than just a massage; it’s a signal to your nervous system that it’s finally safe to let go.

Whether we’re working through chronic pain or navigating anxiety, I use integrated therapy to help you reconnect.

What is your body trying to tell you today?

If you’re feeling the weight of the world in your muscles, I have a few spaces left this coming week.

Pop me a DM or use the link in my bio to book your session.

Happy Mother’s Day!

If today is feeling a little more "go, go, go" than "slow down and breathe," you aren’t alone. I love the energy of a celebration, but sometimes the best gift isn’t another thing to do: it’s actually just... quiet.

I’ve always found that when the mental load starts to feel a bit heavy, a sensory reset is the quickest way to ground your nervous system. That’s exactly what I focus on here. It’s not just a massage; it’s a complete break from the noise of the outside world.

Think:
- The gentle scent of aromatherapy oils (lavender and bergamot are my favorites for calming the "what ifs").
- A warm, safe, and confidential space where you can just be.
- A chance to let your shoulders finally drop away from your ears.
- No demands, no schedules, just peaceful stillness.

I have just a couple of last-minute slots left for today if you: or a mum you love: needs that final bit of sensory calm to round off the day.

You can grab one of those final spots via the booking link in the comments, or feel free to pop me a DM if you have any questions.

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday,
Anna

Motherhood often feels like having a thousand tabs open in your brain while carrying the physical weight of everyone else’s needs. It’s a lot.

If you’re juggling it all, stress usually lands in two places: tight, achy shoulders and that constant mental background noise.

This Mother’s Day, I’m offering a space for you to simply be.

Step into a room where the scent of calming essential oils: lavender to soothe or frankincense to ground: immediately signals to your brain that it’s okay to let go. As you settle in, the focus is entirely on the physical and mental sensations of the therapy. Through rhythmic, therapeutic touch, we work to melt away those stubborn knots in your shoulders while gently quietening the buzz in your mind.

It’s a moment of deep grounding where the environment and the treatment work together to help you reset. You’ll leave feeling physically lighter and mentally much clearer.

I have extra bookings available for:
🗓️ Saturday 14th March
🗓️ Mother’s Day, Sunday 15th March

Book a treat for yourself (or drop a hint!) via the link in my bio or pop me a DM.

Give yourself the break you actually need.

Ever feel like you’re doing all the right things for your physical pain, but it just won’t budge?

It’s exhausting, isn't it? As a therapist and qualified counsellor, I’ve seen so many people stuck in this exact cycle. They come in for a physical "fix," but the pain returns because the body is only half the story.

Chronic pain isn't just about a tight muscle or a trapped nerve. It’s deeply tied to our nervous system, our stress levels, and our emotional history. When we’re stressed or anxious, our bodies tighten up to protect us, which only fuels the pain.

By bridging the gap between massage and counselling, we can look at both the physical sensation and the emotional triggers. I focus on grounding your system through sensory cues: the calming scent of oils and the steady, rhythmic pressure of massage: to help the mind let go so the body can follow.

If you’re tired of only treating half the problem, I’d love to help you find a more complete way forward. I have slots available for a reset on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and I’ve been thinking about how much we all need a genuine moment of peace. If you’re looking for a way to help a mum in your life: or perhaps yourself: find some quiet, I have some good news.

I’ve opened up my diary for extra sessions on Saturday 14th and Mother’s Day itself, Sunday 15th March.

Rather than just a treatment, I focus on the feeling of the experience. Imagine the scent of calming aromatherapy oils as the tension in your shoulders finally begins to release. My sessions are designed to help that built-up stress simply melt away, leaving you feeling deeply refreshed and balanced.

Sometimes, the most thoughtful thing you can give is the chance to just "be" for an hour in a safe, quiet space.

I still have a few slots left across the weekend at my Wirral clinic. You can book your spot easily using the link in the comments or head over to the website. Feel free to pop me a DM if you have any questions about which treatment might be best for you.

I’d love to help you (or your mum) feel a bit lighter this weekend.

If your pet limps once, you’re straight at the vet. If they look even a bit “off,” you’re researching the best care to keep them cozy.

But when your own back has been aching for weeks, or you’re too stressed to sleep? “I’ll deal with it later” usually becomes the mantra.

I call it the Pet Wellness Paradox. We’re often far better at being caregivers to our furry friends than to ourselves, putting our own recovery at the bottom of the list.

As a therapist and qualified counsellor, I’ve seen this many times. We feel guilty for taking an hour for ourselves, yet we wouldn't dream of letting a pet suffer.

Your rest is just as vital as theirs. Imagine an hour where the only thing on your agenda is the calming scent of essential oils and the feeling of tension finally leaving your body. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you can’t throw the ball if your shoulder is screaming.

Whether you need to work through chronic pain or just a safe space to offload, I’m here. And yes, please tell me all about your pets (and show me photos!) during our sessions.

Ready to put yourself back on the priority list? I have slots open on Saturday 14th and Mother's Day, Sunday 15th March.

What does the mother figure in your life actually need this Mother’s Day?

Often, it isn’t a box of chocolates. It’s the feeling of heavy shoulders finally dropping. It’s the gentle scent of calming essential oils filling a quiet room, and the slow, steady release of tension as the world outside fades away. It’s that rare moment of complete, uninterrupted calm.

In my sessions, I use my dual background in massage and counselling to focus on exactly that: the deep connection between your mind and body. It’s about more than just a massage; it’s a space to ground your nervous system and hit the reset button on the mental load.

If you’re looking to gift her some space to breathe and feel like herself again, I have availability on:

✨ Saturday 14th March
✨ Sunday 15th March

You can book directly via the link in my bio or pop me a DM if you have any questions. Let's give her the gift of pure, uninterrupted space.

Ever wondered why a standard stretch or generic massage doesn’t always shift that nagging ache?

It’s because your pain has its own fingerprint.

Chronic pain isn’t just about a tight muscle; it’s shaped by your history, your daily movements, and how your nervous system reacts to stress. A one-size-fits-all approach often falls short because it treats the symptom, not the person.

As a qualified counsellor and therapist, I work a bit differently. I use an integrated approach that blends hands-on therapeutic massage with the emotional support of counselling. We address the physical tension and the mental load under one roof.

I focus on the sensory experience of relief: the slow release of a stubborn knot and the deep, calming breath that follows. Everything is tailored to your specific needs.

Why personalized care matters:
✨ It acknowledges the deep mind-body connection.
✨ Every session is tailored to your specific needs.
✨ It helps you understand triggers, not just mask pain.

If you’re tired of fixes that don’t quite “fit,” I’m here to help.

I have a few spaces available this week in Wirral, including next weekend (March 14th & 15th). Book via the link in the comments or pop me a DM to chat.

Ever noticed how a cat can find a tiny sunbeam and just... exist in it?

My foster cat, Scruffy, has taught me so much about mindfulness. A rhythmic purr is a direct signal to our nervous system that it’s okay to slow down.

In the therapy room: whether I’m providing counselling or massage: I often talk about "grounding." It’s the practice of pulling yourself out of a "what if" spiral and back into your body.

Scruffy does this naturally. He doesn't worry about tomorrow; he is 100% present in the moment.

As a therapist and qualified counsellor, I’ve seen how we often overcomplicate wellness. Sometimes, grounding is as simple as noticing the weight of a pet on your lap or the gentle, calming scent of lavender in the air. It’s a sensory anchor that tells your brain you are safe right now.

I’d love to hear about your "unofficial therapy assistants." Do you have a pet that helps you stay grounded when things feel a bit much? Share a photo or comment below!

If you’re feeling ungrounded yourself, I’m here to help. Whether it’s through integrated bodywork or counselling, we can find the tools that work for you. Pop me a DM if you'd like to chat.

When you’ve lived with chronic pain for a long time, it’s rarely just about muscles or joints. Your nervous system can get stuck in a 'high alert' loop: pain triggers stress, and stress triggers tension, making the pain feel even worse.

At Relax Therapies Wirral, I believe real relief happens when I treat the mind and body together. My unique approach blends my 15 years of experience in massage therapy with my background as a fully qualified counsellor to help break that cycle.

How I help:
- Massage physically calms your nervous system and releases held tension.
- Counselling offers space to navigate the emotional toll and those anxious "what ifs."
- Together, I help you reframe your experience and lower the volume on pain signals.

It’s not a "quick fix," but it is a path toward manageable, practical relief and feeling more in control of your wellbeing.

What if you didn't have to navigate this alone?

I have spaces for counselling and massage this week across Wirral. Pop me a DM or use the link in my bio to book.

I’d love to help you find a bit more ease.

Does your body feel exhausted, but your mind is racing at 2am?

That “wired but tired” feeling is a common sign of the ‘Second Spring’: the traditional name for perimenopause and menopause. It can feel like a bit of a storm, but it’s also a powerful shift into a new phase of life.

When hormones shift, your nervous system often gets stuck on high alert. With 15 years of experience as a massage therapist and as a fully qualified counsellor, I know that therapeutic massage isn't just a treat; it’s a physical signal to your brain that it’s safe to down-regulate.

In my sessions, I use specific essential oils to help:
- Clary Sage: For balancing hormones and easing anxiety.
- Lavender: For calming a racing mind and supporting sleep.
- Peppermint: For cooling hot flushes and clearing brain fog.

Whether I use grounding strokes to settle your system or targeted work for shoulder tension, each session is tailored to you.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. If you’re feeling frazzled, pop me a DM or check the booking link in the comments.

Let’s get you feeling like yourself again. 🌿✨
