We are so excited to start our next cohort of Forest School Leader Training, in only 3 weeks time!⁠

Are you looking for your next career move and thinking about outdoor work? This could be just the right step for you and there is still time to apply.⁠

Join us for 10 days of practical skills, educational theory and camaraderie with like-minded individuals - all immersed in a wonderful woodland setting. You will learn how to keep groups safe, warm, comfortable and engaged in an outdoor environment. As well as gaining skills in fire lighting, tool use and shelter building.⁠

We had a wonderful day last week (as we always do!) when delivering Women's Wellbeing Workshops at the Callister Garden

This month we celebrated Imbolc and the first unfurling of Spring. We made St Brigits cross', decorated pots and sowed seeds, wrote nature poetry inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the garden and finished the day with singing around the campfire.

It was a pleasure to spend the day with the women from .

Our weekly gardening sessions continue tomorrow at the Bentinck Street Community Garden. Come and gain hands on gardening skills during this welcoming and beginner-friendly session, suitable for all!

We are heading into the start of the growing season, so it's the perfect time to get your hands in the soil and sow some seeds. Sessions are led by our lovely Forest School Leader and resident gardener Kate.

This course will empower you to deliver creative, resilience building programmes outdoors that increase wellbeing and teach practical skills.

Our course includes:

• A team of highly experienced and knowledgeable staff with a range of skills who will guide you through the programme
• 10 full days of in-person training predominantly delivered outdoors, immersed in the natural environment you will be working in
• A seasonal experience as the course is delivered in blocks over several months so you can practice working in a range of conditions

YOUTH IN NATURE – Returns this Sunday 8th February!

Calling all parents/carers! Do you have or know a teen looking to gain outdoor skills, get creative and leave the house at the weekend? Why not tell them about our Youth in Nature group, running every other Sunday from 10am-12pm (from this Sunday 8th February!)

Join us to explore, learn and connect with other likeminded young people. From shelter building to fire lighting; nature inspired games, art and outdoor cooking. The sessions are led by the young peoples interests and are designed to build independence and confidence.

Sessions are for young people between 11-18 years at our woodland site in Bidston Hill.

Want to learn some new gardening skills to bring with you into 2026? Maybe you are feeling the winter blues and want to connect with others in a calming outdoor environment. Why not try our FREE weekly ‘Growing a Community Garden’ sessions at Bentinck Street Community Garden (Hilton Close, Birkenhead, CH41 4DY). The perfect way to improve your wellbeing during the winter months.

No experience needed! Come along to learn practical, hands-on growing skills, soak up the healing environment of the garden and connect with like-minded people. You can do as much or as little as you like!

GROW - Wellbeing

GROW-Wellbeing is a not-for-profit company which provides creative person-centred Forest School and other outdoor learning opportunities which support individual health and wellbeing. Extensive research indicates that children’s holistic development is actively promoted through positive engagement and respect for the natural world.

Working with communities throughout the North West and North Wales, GROW works with schools, nurseries, youth settings, child and adolescent mental health teams and local authority looked after children services, to provide programmes of outdoor learning, Forest School and plant cultivation, which are child-centred, promote positive self-affirmation, resilience, relationship building, risk management and communication skills and independence.

GROW is a team of experienced outdoor Forest and Coastal school leaders, early years and primary educators and lecturers, youth and play workers, artists and art educators and social care and mental health professionals.
