Frank Field, Baron Field of Birkenhead
16th July 1942 - 23rd April 2024

Mr Frank Field, long standing MP for Birkenhead and latterly Member of the House of Lords passed away peacefully in London after a long-standing illness.

Throughout his long career in public life, Mr Field was a champion of the underprivileged and promoted measures to fight poverty, unemployment, welfare rights and was successful in introducing a range of policy changes. Four decades as an MP for Birkenhead, he promoted several causes to help local community, businesses, and industry.

We at Miriam Primary Care Group remember him fondly as a mentor who supported us for the past 35 years. His intervention and support was instrumental in ensuring the building of Birkenhead Medical Building and the ongoing future for the Miriam Minor Injury Service. Meeting rooms in both Cavendish and Miriam practices were named as “Frank Field Suite 1 & 2” in recognition of his efforts.

May he rest in peace. We are thankful for your leadership, encouragement, support and friendship. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
