Spring has arrived in Birmingham 🌱🌼
Gorgeous sights at the community herbal allotment today .
How amazing is life when the sun is out ( remind me of this in summer when I’m complaining about being too hot and needing to hide in the shade)
It may be ‘false spring’ where it snows the following week, but the sun being out, no matter how brief, is just sooo good.

Anyone who wants to learn more about herbal medicine, improve their health and wellbeing, wants to be part of a community , you are more than welcome to come along to the community herbal medicine garden, Birmingham. We are currently there twice a week, just get in touch 🌱

Ahh so lovely to see the spring growth appearing 🌱
It was such a gorgeous day yesterday here in the Midlands, and so good to spend some time at my allotment without a coat and got to stay past tea time without it being dark ☀️
I also had my first cup of herbal tea from the purple dead nettle growing in abundance all over the plot.
Here’s to the return of the light

That’s it, it’s March and market season has kicked off 🏃‍♀️ 🌼 And what an absolutely amazing turnout today. It was good to be back out with my teas after the winter. I love winter, I love hibernating so I always feel March comes to soon and I’m back out in the world, but today it felt good to see everyone again, stall holders and customers.
Next weekend I’m back for the first Kings Heath of the year .

I have 2 new children’s workshops taking place during the Easter holidays, as well as a seasonal adults herbal workshop in April.
But first up it’s a Spring Equinox Yoga Nidra and Herbs workshop in collaboration with

It’s been a busy February at the community plot with a huge effort from everyone whose been coming down to get the site on its way from a neglected, uneven, swampy state to somewhere we can grow medicinal herbs.
We’re looking forwards to the year ahead. If you’d like to get involved here are the dates for March, please feel free to share with anyone you think may be interested 🌱💚

A wonderful start to workshops this year in the most beautiful venue.
Invited by to run a wild woods workshop in the restored Anglican chapel, London Road Cemetery, Coventry last weekend. A perfect setting for tales of trees, wildwoods brews and walks amongst the ancient trees of Paxton’s arboretum.
I love February it’s so good to feel the cold air and rain, it certainly makes you feel alive. The arboretum is a lovely place for a winter meander.

If anyone fancies getting involved with the community herbal allotment we are back for the new season 💚 so get those thermals and waterproofs looked out and come and join us build our plant medicine garden ❄️

After a workshop from on pruning apple and pear trees we felt we knew enough to make a start today pruning the apple and pear trees that were already at the plot 🌱

And we got to try out our fancy new wheelbarrow. The crows were out and the ginger tom cat popped by followed by hot chocolate and ginger biscuits. Not a bad way to start the season ☕️

If you want to get involved shaping this project or just fancy a visit for a chat and a cuppa just send me a message, the more of us the merrier

Winter dates at the plant medicine plot!
If you fancy getting outdoors this winter - you are more than welcome to join me at the community allotment.

Although it’s not growing season there are loads of jobs to be getting on with at the allotment this winter - from pruning the fruit trees, to clearing an area for our shed to be built, to drawing out the area for our pond and bog garden, as well as prepping the spiral herb garden area.

If you’d like to come and lend a hand or know someone who would be interested we’d love to hear from you.

Happy solstice everyone.
I spent the shortest day under the old Scot’s Pines at the Bournville - my favourite pitch.
And what an amazing day it was, and a perfect way to see out the year.
Thank you soooo much from the bottom of my heart, firstly to who has conjured up a most amazing series of markets, and to everyone who has come along to the stall this year, thank you all so much, and to all the traders who I spend each weekend with whether rain or shine.
Love to you all, and wishing everyone the most wonderful festive period, however or whatever you celebrate, whether solstice, Christmas, New Year Hogmanay , wishing you good food, good company, good laughs and love
