Another good morning with Balsall Health , Brum and Rajan posing. Today the young fruit trees and bushes were getting watered and mulched at the Apnar Ghar community centre before the next heatwave comes.
It’s been lovely visiting the group and seeing the fab work they’ve been doing, I’ve met some lovely people at the sessions, plenty tales of plants and knowledge passed on through families and communities. Feeling inspired

Happy heart today 💚
Today we started a medicinal garden at the Hodgehill allotments, in Birmingham.
We started off on a herb walk where we found some beautiful medicinal plants growing. I learnt so much from the great group who came along. I think the youngsters thought I was a bit mad wearing cleavers, aka sticky wi***es/ goose grass , but by the end there was quite a few of them wearing it. The children did some harvesting of leaves and made pots of herbal tea in the caffetier for everyone to taste. And of course there was a tea blending/t-bag making session. Some members of the allotments made gorgeous food to share. And finally we consisted the day with the planting and starting the medicinal garden off in the community plot.
It really was a beautiful day, so many lovely people turned up, a real gorgeous community of people, i left with a very happy heart

Medicinal plants all potted up and ready to go to their new home. 🌱💚
I’ve been invited over to Ward End allotments in Brumland to deliver a session about growing medicinal plants. We’ll be planting these herb babies in the communal plot - and being an ex red-head and a blue skinned Scot I am delighted this 30* scorching sun will be slightly less scorching by Sunday 🌞
Anyway I’m really excited to be involved with the allotment team in getting a medicinal garden up and running for the community - and obviously there will be lots of tea drinking taking place

Every year I head to the same place to gather linden tree/ tilia flowers. A circle of 80 trees, brimming with flowers, perfect for picking for such a short window of time. I love my yearly trip, I love waiting for the first flowers to blossom then the smell of summer in the air and I know it’s time to head on off on my journey. I gather tilia to make teas, to share at summer performances with and summer workshops. Any remaining I make into bedtime blends. So thats my visit to the circle of trees for this year 💚

Life is flying by, how is it nearly June??

1:2:1 herbal consultations will be carrying on as normal throughout summer, however I only have a few public events and markets left until Autumn, 😱

💚 Events and Workshops
•My final practical Herbal Medicine Making Workshop will be taking place at The Fold on July 5th.

It is likely this will be my final public ‘herbal remedy making’ workshop of the year. As things start to get busy with Story Tea performances in the Autumn I may not have time to schedule in any more of these this year so if you fancy coming along spaces are currently available, booking is via my website.

•Unwind & Heal with Emma Blunston - this Saturdays Yoga Nidra and Herbal session is sold out , however, we are planning more of these sessions for this year, so if you’ve missed out there will be other opportunities to catch us 🌞

•Herb walks - myself and are planning more herbal walks this year, hopefully we will be able to schedule one in over the summer, dates will be confirmed soon

I’m back by the gorgeously huge Scot’s pines today at the Bournville market. The trees are stunning and the photo doesn’t do them any justice. But anyway it’s always lovely have the pitch next to them for the day with their protective presence.
I’m not at the bournville market in June so anyone in the area in need of teas pop along - I’ll be under the pines.
