Hette wasn't feeling himself, standing in some strange postures, and not eating his food. After an orthopedic assessment, we soon discovered that he had quite a significant muscle strain in his adductors on the left hind. In the first clip, you can see that he crabs to the right in order to avoid elongating those muscles on the inside of his hindquarters. Getting some proprioceptive and hind strengthening work in one exercise 💪 Proprioception can be defined as a 'specialised variation of the sensory modality of touch that encompasses the sensation of joint movement (kinesthesia) and joint position (joint position sense)'. Both of these factors enable an awareness of hind limb movement and position. Injury and surgery can disrupt the neural pathways that relay joint movement and position to the brain.
