With Thanks To All At Metchley Manor…
From the minute you press the front door bell,
prepare to slow down and let your heart swell.
Carol or Debbie greets you, with a smile a mile long,
welcome you warmly…from the lounge comes a song.
You may hear laughter, a quiz or a gentle ‘meow’
as Beetlejuice stretches, reminding you how
to relax and leave rushing outside the front door.
Time is so precious here, we cherish it more.
Sean is handsome as Connery, just call him ‘Bond’!
He’s one of Mom’s favorites, she’s become so fond
of how he ‘high fives’ her, like she’s a cool cat,
thanks to Ahmed’s new cushion, she’s comfortably sat
and surrounded by kindness, from everyone here.
She feels safe and confident, never in fear.
Kels or Katie update us on what Mom’s been doing,
crafts, cooking and games, pretty much everything.
That’s so good to hear, that she’s having a go,
they’re all patient here - it’s o.k. if you’re slow.
In housekeeping Michelle labels all of Mom’s gear,
Parkash and the cleaners keep it spotless in here.
Those in Royal Purple are all Kings & Queens,
carers with kindness, more than you’ve ever seen!
There’s Marcia, Kingsley, Roy and Ahmed,
Nazia, Juliet, Iwona, and Warisha
Each gentle kiss or the touch of a hand,
connects deep inside and they all understand
that life isn’t easy and some days are tough.
They each do their best and it’s more than enough.
Their care is so tender, it fills up your heart,
with a laugh in the bistro, it all plays a part.
Scott & his crew cook a feast for each day,
from full English breakfasts to desserts that may…
rival Nigella! Mofe and Anna do this too,
cooking with residents, always something new.
From carnival banners, to bread & butter pud,
each session is varied, but all of them good.
Keeping minds active and spirits engaged,
uniting with others, new friends at this age.
Martin, a mischievous twinkle in his smile,
loads up the van and drives out for miles.
Sometimes to the pub, or perhaps to the park,
gets you home safe, before it goes dark.
Cavell in the office, who showed us around,
answered our questions & made sure she found
the right room for Mom, with a view of the trees.
Next door for Dad’s respite, we are all so pleased,
Sian’s door’s always open, she helps with it all,
Just pop in and see her, or give her a call.
Like many staff here, she is helpful and wise,
the devoted hard work deserves every prize!
Many more stars work alongside boss Kim,
their enthusiasm is always full up to the brim.
Bobbie in the restaurant, with golden girl Jane,
Medic star Matt, with ‘tidy*’ Welsh refrain,
there’s Mandy, and Rayven and Alwiya too,
Lydia’s so kind and gentle, making a brew.
Not forgetting the late shift, you probably don’t see,
who work through the night with a quiet dignity.
A friend suggested the Manor, said it’s the best,
they look after Mom as a warm, welcomed guest.
With care, love & kindness, to make your eyes water,
These lines are written by an appreciative daughter.
So Thanks to the staff, with each smiling face
