Kings Heath Village Square Labyrinth 126.5m long & 12m diameter. A seven circuit left handed labyrinth open to anyone to walk.

Which I did today in the bright sunlight.

No one walked with me, but people were around & wished me happy new year. Pigeons stepped on & off and flew in a flock. One had a wire caught round its leg and two ladies spent over an hour coaxing it close enough with bird seed to help remove it.

Traffic on the high street moved along.

It focused my head & released it at the same time.

It’s set my course for 2025, for our new health club, and our first .with.us

Sat in the park being the responsible parent to my youngest who wants to hang out with her friends but I don’t trust the world enough to let her do that alone just yet. I’m sat a little way away on a bench listening to on the podcast. Of whom the aforementioned is said daughter’s favourite show (kind of sound like her now!)

It’s got me thinking about the introverted extrovert thing & being a highly sensitive person. About being happy & peaceful sat in my cat’s presence! About being a woman & all the daily expectations that come with that.

Then my really good true friends. The ones who take me as I am. However frequently or infrequently that is. It’s funny where your mind goes when you’re not “doing.”

It’s a mental world sometimes but the oddest moments on park benches bring such lovely grounding. There really is something in listening to other people’s experiences & being able to connect those with your own.

I’ll go home & organise my bookshelf because I’m sure the rest of the week will not work if I don’t deal with it today. It’s only been looking at me in its current disheveled state for the past 6mths. But today feels like the day.

Hope you get chance for a moment this week 🫶🏼

Release Receive Return

4 days out of normal life. Releasing the guilt of not teaching my classes, of not doing school run or cooking meals & setting the washing machine. Of not being physically present at home & with my safe people.

4 days of receiving confidence travelling alone. Of experiencing new places, only seeming to be able to recall Spanish words not French ones. Gaining knowledge & completing the course with wonderful people. Understanding my path. Walking the Labyrinth.
I don’t have to regulate other people’s emotions or expectations. We are all naturally creative, resourceful & whole.

After 4 days getting ready to return home & finally use my Labyrinth. Going back to move forward. The return path is the same as the path I took to get here but I’m not the same so neither is it. Space has been held.

This is the return from the secret garden where the Chartres Legacy Labyrinth lives. This is the door home. The Labyrinth it calls my name.

With gratitude to for it all.

I could see the top of the south side of this from my window. I had to go & look properly & wow!

The lights, the music surrounding us. Just stunning. Take a look at my reels for a couple of videos.

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Albus Dumbledore.

I could see one side on this from my window so I had to go & see properly. Just wow!

From a walk on an 800yr or so old Labyrinth with many many people on it at the same time. To a solitary walk on a 13yr old Labyrinth dedicated as a Legacy Labyrinth in 2018.

Legacy Labyrinth means it has been dedicated to connect to all the other Legacy Labyrinths around the world for the purpose of peace & healing.

How to walk a Labyrinth as written by

Pause at the entrance, clear your mind of extraneous thoughts

Affirm your intention (in this case peace & healing)

Invoke your form of guidance (spiritual, intellectual, personal etc)

Walk at your own pace (if there are others it’s ok to pass them)

Be attentive to your body, your thoughts, your feelings

Stay in the centre for a while if you wish, then exit via the same path used to enter

Express upon leaving your gratitude and acknowledge to yourself any gifts you may have received or given out during your walk

I’m here.

I walked. Twice

I watched others walk. For ages

My favourite walkers were 3 teenage boys. They raced it. They cut turns. They didn’t follow the path at all. They smiled lots.

I ate lunch outside. I ordered in French (of sorts)

I had to wait to return to my hotel as President Macron had arrived for a surprise visit to the Cathedral. Apparently he’s passionate about heritage.

It’s a special place and space.

The stone floor has seen so many feet.

I have so many questions. Answers. And the gaps in between

Happy sigh.

After a long day of travelling, I’ve arrived in Chartres to the most spectacular cathedral. I’m staying in a converted monastery 1min away.

Tomorrow I get to walk the 42.3ft Labyrinth that’s existed in the cathedral since the 13th century.

Then spend the weekend on a Labyrinth facilitators course that I’ve wanted to do for the last 2yrs with

Need to pinch myself!
