What a fantastic Summer Fete we had here at Portway House! Many residents, staff and visitors tested their luck with the tombola and enjoyed many a sweet treat. We also enjoyed a music filled afternoon and as always lots of love and laughter🏖🎊

With just a few days to go before our big summer fete, if anyone else would like a stall, we'd love to welcome you.

Our summer fete is on Saturday 5th July and we would love to see you and also... perhaps even take a stall!

So, if you have a desire to sell your food, drink or even your crafts, we'd love to hear from you. It will be the perfect opportunity to reach new audiences and customers and it's promised to be a great day out.

Wow what a day!

Last Friday we proudly celebrated the very first graduates of our 'Flourish' training programme, in the gardens of our sister home Newbury Manor.

After 12 weeks of dedicated studying and hard work, staff from across our four homes swapped their uniforms for lovely dresses to celebrate the successful completion of their advance nurse training course, designed and led by our regional director Kim Young and with help from Chadelle Charles-Grell.

Our incredible individuals committed themselves to learning, researching and progressing through each module with enthusiasm and determination.

A heartfelt thank you to Cllr Maria Crompton from the Tividale ward for joining our CEO Mrs. Shindar Chall to present the awards, we couldn't be more proud of our graduates to continue growth, development and excellence.

Thank you also to Shirley Way from Skills for Care, Paula Arlington from NHS Sandwell and Molly Henriques-Dillon from ICB for their continued support.

The garden is always blooming at this time of year, and our staff and residents have been busy planting.

From pretty flowers to strawberries and raspberries, we're having a bumper crop so far. Well done to everyone for their outdoor, green-fingered efforts, more photos to come in the following weeks. 🌺

There’s something really special about a fish & chip takeaway, we think. It’s more than just a meal, it’s an excuse to come together, share and make memories. 💕

And that’s exactly what we did recently for our ‘bring the beach to the home’ 🏖️ day.

The association of fish and chips on the beach has always been an important part of our culture, and thanks to The Big Chippy Uk, their delicious fish & chips helped to bring the tradition and simple pleasure of eating together, outside in the sun right back to our home.

Well, move over cheese lovers because our very own residents do, too 🤗.

At our recent cheese and wine evening, we sampled many different varieties of cheese, all accompanied with perfect wine pairings.

This was not just a cheese and wine event, this was a Portway House cheese and wine event in style 🍷.

All were very well thought through, with unique insights and in-depth knowledge clearly demonstrated.
