*POLAROID SUNGLASSES*

These lenses are coated with a special film that filters out light in a certain direction. They are, therefore, particularly effective for outdoor activities like driving, fishing, skiing, or when on holiday on the beach or cruise, where glare from reflective surfaces can be intense.

Here's a little comparison between Non Polaroid and Polaroid sunglasses:

1. Lens Technology

Polaroid Sunglasses: Use polarized lenses, which have a special filter that blocks horizontally reflected light. This reduces glare from surfaces like water, roads, and snow.

Non-Polaroid Sunglasses: Provide basic protection from sunlight by darkening the view but do not block specific types of glare.

2. Glare Reduction

Polaroid Sunglasses: Excellent at reducing glare, making them ideal for activities like driving, fishing, or spending time near water or snow. They improve visual clarity and comfort in bright conditions.

Non-Polaroid Sunglasses: Can reduce overall brightness but won’t specifically block glare. This can lead to discomfort or reduced visibility in high-glare situations.

3. Colour and Contrast

Polaroid Sunglasses: Often enhance contrast and colour perception, which can improve visual clarity and reduce eye strain in bright conditions.

Non-Polaroid Sunglasses: May darken colors more evenly without enhancing contrast, making them less effective in certain outdoor activities.

Our mental health plays an important role in our wellbeing. It can also have an impact on the eyes. High levels of stress and anxiety can lead to symptoms like eye strain, dry eye and blurred vision. When we experience stress, our bodies release stress hormones that can affect the tear production in our eyes, leading to discomfort and dryness. Try to find activities that may calm you or a new hobby that gives you a sense of excitement. Sometimes talking to someone/seeking help from your GP can also be beneficial.
If you are experiencing dry eye symptoms, pop in for an assessment and treatment ❀
