👩🏻‍⚖️👩🏿‍🎨👩🏼‍💻🙋🏽Happy International Women’s Day from Bloomwise!

I was lucky enough to be asked to talk at the Women: Innovation, Technology, Strength Conference.

The Innovation Women Conference is created to applaud the achievements of Women in Innovation and to celebrate International Women’s day. I felt proud of myself and Bloomwise to be listed alongside some other incredible women and their successes.

I discussed my major life milestones, and the theme of ‘identity’ throughout and what this means to me, as well as my successes, challenges, and ‘failures’.

I obviously discussed how myself and Paris brought Bloomwise to life and our major milestones. So, today I wanted to highlight that we couldn’t have done all of this without the amazing women-driven team that we have.

I am so lucky to share this journey with such inspiring, intelligent, and driven women. You are all shining and we are so grateful for you. So, today is a big thank you to them from both of us 🌼💛 - Frankie

🎂 Bloomwise is turning 2!

Today marks Bloomwise's second birthday and we are so proud of the journey we have had so far.

From registering as a company towards the end of 2020, to receiving our first rounds of funding in the summer of 2021
and becoming part of the first ever cohort at the University of Birmingham's start-up incubator, Elevate, it has been a whirlwind of hard work and fun!

Thank you to everyone that has supported us along the way - the Bloomies, our clients, and the University of Birmingham (and many more!).

Here's to many more Bloomwise birthdays!!

👩‍💻 Daryl Anne Estill, project manager at TDIndustries, a commercial and industrial construction and facilities management company.

❤️ Daryll Anne was ‌over-performing at work. She excelled in her role, and had been promoted several times during her eight years at TDIndustries (TDI)

🗣️ But she took a mental health break from work - for an entire year.

💭 "In my mind, I needed to do everything for everybody, or I was a total failure."

➡️ Daryll Anne highlights the importance of language when it comes to mental health - and how it helped having the words to tell her partner or work what she is experiencing.

Thank you to Kyle Tansley for writing this blog!

🗓 International Day of Persons with Disabilities was on the 3rd December.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities raises awareness of the resilience of individuals with disabilities and aims to promote their rights and well-being.

The theme this year is ‘transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world’.

Importantly, this is an opportunity for employers to think about how they can better support their employees who have disabilities.

👋🏼 Bloomwise is making headlines - Read all about it!

Our Co-Founder and CEO, Frankie, has been named as one of The Telegraph NatWest 100 Female Entrepreneurs to Watch list for 2022!

Women are starting businesses at a faster rate than men in the UK, and the Telegraph and Natwest have come together to offer support and celebrate 100 of the best. The initiative shines a light on some of the most exciting businesses to watch in the UK, celebrates female entrepreneurship, and highlights the support needed for women business owners to succeed.

Frankie had this to say when she got the exciting news…

“Winning this award is a really special moment for me. To be recognised by The Telegraph and Natwest for the work I do at Bloomwise is a huge honour. It shows me that following my heart and doing what I love and am passionate about works. I feel proud to be listed amongst such amazing and inspiring women - and I’ll use this to continue to make an impact with the work I do, and strive to do more for women in areas in which they are underrepresented.” - perhaps turn this in to a canva post as well to include in the images if wanting to reduce instagram caption

We also want to extend our congratulations to the 99 other women who deservedly made the 100, alongside Frankie. We have loved reading about all the businesses created by this inspiring and innovative group of women, and are thrilled to see Bloomwise’s name among such wonderful companies. Check out the full article - the link is in our bio and story!

A huge congratulations Frankie, from all of us here at Bloomwise. We’re so proud of you and the work we do as a team and are thrilled to see you receive the recognition you deserve!

🗓 Did you know that November is Men’s Health Awareness Month?

🧠 This year there is a particular focus on men’s mental health.

Unfortunately, men are 2x as likely to have mental health problems due to their job compared to problems outside of work.

Work culture, especially in male dominated industries, can perpetuate a stereotypical ‘macho culture’ in which male employees should be strong, dominant and not talk about their emotions.

Therefore, men are less likely to take time off for their mental health or seek support from their managers

Male line managers are less likely to feel confident talking to their employees about mental health.

Keep swiping to find out how your business can support male employees! ➡️

❌ Did you know, more than 1/3 of workplaces do not have a well-being plan in place.

And as for a Mental Health Plan? Well, we can help you with that.

Bloomwise offers a Mental Health Plan - this is a framework to help you address mental health within your business.

It helps set clear aims, objectives, and goals
for mental health within your workplace.

It's your commitment as a business and describes the ongoing work you are carrying out to promote good mental health in your organisation.

Plus, we offer a diagnostic - a session where we speak to your employees to find out what they ACTUALLY want, to help you understand your staff better.

🧩 Making mental health benefits work for your team!

Here are the key steps employers need to take to ensure employee assistance programmes (EAPs) are accessible and supportive of employees' mental health.

➡️ Promote the discussion of sensitive topics and concerns with team members.

➡️ Normalise mental health as being another way in which people can take care of their well-being.

➡️ Transition people to more adequate long-term care.

Hi, I’m Liv! I’m doing my placement at Bloomwise as a mental health research assistant👩‍💻

I joined Bloomwise as I want to work in the mental health sector as I believe that everyone should have access to mental health support and services. I also want to help reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues and educate people about the variety of mental health conditions 🧠💡

Outside of Bloomwise, I do dancing and have done many styles including tap, ballet, modern and commercial💃
