For siblings Betty, Jim and Liam, life at Hagley Road Retirement Village is all about togetherness, support and feeling truly at home. Originally from Ireland, the family reunited in later life and found a welcoming community where they could stay close, look out for one another and enjoy retirement side by side. 💛

From gardening clubs and volunteering, to woodworking projects and shared meals, village life keeps everyone active and connected. During challenging times, including the pandemic, the strong community spirit made all the difference – neighbours exercising together on balconies and staff always on hand, creating a real sense of safety and belonging.

As Betty puts it, “Having your siblings close is comforting, just like when you’re young.” And for Jim, simply knowing family is nearby makes every day better.

Makin' a difference 🏃‍♀️

Our colleague, Hannah, is running in this years London Marathon to help raise money to support our mission of providing better lives for older people💙

As we’re a charity, any surplus created is entirely reinvested back into the organisation to benefit our 4,700+ residents. Since 2020, we have supported the services we provide such as domiciliary care, our wellbeing service, dementia and end of life care, as well as research and innovation, at a cost of over £14m!

To help us continue this invaluable support to our residents, we would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word and making any contribution donations.
