On Wednesday 10th September 2025, we will be shining a spotlight on the often -overlooked impact of gambling harms on "affected others" – the friends, family members, and communities surrounding individuals experiencing gambling issues. We will be joined by EPIC Restart Foundation.

The event aims to foster deeper understanding, open dialogue, and collective action to support those indirectly affected.

🚨 SPIKING IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE! 🚨

Spiking is when someone puts alcohol or drugs into another person’s drink or body without their consent or knowledge.

It can happen to anyone, anywhere - and may be carried out by strangers or even people you know.

Spiking can make someone seriously ill. It can cause:
* Confusion and disorientation
* Nausea and vomiting
* Hallucinations and paranoia
* Poor co-ordination and vision
* An inability to communicate clearly
* Memory loss and blackouts

If you are drinking this summer, remain vigilant and follow this advice...
1. Never leave your drink unattended.
2. Don’t accept a drink from someone else, especially someone you don’t know.
3. Throw your drink away if you think it, tastes strange or looks different.
4. If you or a friend feel unwell, seek help from staff or call an ambulance immediately.

Meet Roberta! She’s joining us as a volunteer at Aquarius Homes 💙

Here's a bit about Roberta:
Roberta, originally from Italy, moved to the UK in 2017 and has over 22 years of experience as a carer, previously supporting disabled adults.

As a qualified dietitian, she is passionate about helping young people develop essential life skills such as hygiene, cooking and planning balanced meals.

At Aquarius Homes, she will encourage healthy eating by spending time with the young people, supporting them to cook delicious, nutritious meals tailored to their preferences.

Volunteering also gives her the chance to further improve her English while building meaningful connections with the young people she supports.

Join us in supporting the UK Recovery Walk – Wolverhampton 2025
📅 Saturday 13th September 2025
📍 West Park, Wolverhampton

We’re inviting local businesses and corporate partners to stand with us in celebrating recovery.

This year, the beautiful West Park will host people in recovery, their families, friends and professionals from across the UK for a powerful day of unity and hope. Each year, a different city is chosen to host the National Recovery Walk, featuring a public march alongside a vibrant Recovery Village.

For the very first time, the event is coming to the Black Country – and we’d love you to be part of it. Expect an unforgettable day filled with live music, community stalls, and a strong show of solidarity.

We held a fantastic Family Fun Day in Derby on Friday 15th August 2025, and it was wonderful to see so many families join us! From boxing and dance workshops to football skills, games, arts & crafts, hair braiding, face painting, and of course a bouncy castle, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thank you to all the families and supporters who came along, and to the brilliant organisations who had stalls on the day: Umbrella Derby & Derbyshire, The Happiness Hub Derby, Baby People and Sway Boxing Derby 💙
