We are pleased to share that Pattigift Therapy is now offering a suite of accredited training programmes in African-centred therapeutic theory and practice, created specifically for those committed to culturally grounded, socially conscious, and psychologically restorative work with African heritage communities.
Our courses offer a distinctive, in-depth approach that honours African worldviews, challenges Eurocentric frameworks, and equips learners to work confidently and ethically in both community and professional contexts.
We are now enrolling for the following qualifications:
Level 3: Certificate in African Centred Skills and Theory
For: Activists, support workers, and community practitioners
A dynamic entry-level course that introduces key African psychological concepts, ancestral principles, and practical approaches to community support and care. It is ideal for those on the front lines of social change.
Level 4: Diploma in African Centred Restorative Counselling Practice
For: Those seeking to become qualified counsellors
This diploma provides professional recognition, enabling you to practise as a qualified counsellor with a specialised focus on clients of African heritage. The training bridges therapeutic rigour with cultural relevance, offering a powerful alternative to Eurocentric counselling models.
Level 5: Diploma in African Centred Psychological Restorative Practice
For: Health professionals and advanced practitioners
An advanced programme that equips clinicians, managers, and therapeutic leaders to work effectively with the psychological impact of racism, colonial legacies, and structural oppression. This course encourages deep exploration and strategic reflection grounded in African-centred theory and ethics.
Throughout all courses, participants will engage with the psychological challenges confronting people of African heritage within oppressive social structures—while developing the tools and knowledge to promote healing, restoration, and collective empowerment.
This is more than training; it’s a journey towards psychological sovereignty and community renewal.
