It’s been a busy day today at Heartlands Care Home
Our residents had a lovely trip out to the RAF Museum in Cosford today ✈️🇬🇧

They enjoyed exploring the amazing aircraft, learning about the history of the RAF, and sharing lots of memories and conversations throughout the day. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and everyone having such a great time together. 💜

Trips out like these are a fantastic way to create new memories, encourage social interaction, and enjoy new experiences. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special!

🏆🎂 The winner of the Country Court Bake-Off Competition is... Charlotte Legge from Castor Lodge Care Home! 🎂🏆

Charlotte wowed the judges with her incredible campervan-themed birthday cake, featuring four delicious layers: Coffee & Walnut, Lemon Drizzle, Red Velvet and Victoria Sponge. Inspired by an era loved by residents, the ambitious design showcased exceptional creativity, skill and attention to detail.

This year's competition celebrated the amazing birthday cakes our teams lovingly create for residents and colleagues, making special occasions even more memorable. Judged on presentation, taste, innovation and baking skill, the standard was incredibly high.

A huge congratulations also goes to our fantastic finalists:
⭐ Marzena Turowska from Tallington Lodge Care Home with her resident-inspired Raspberry & Pistachio Cake
⭐ Victoria Bullingham from our Central Services Payroll Team with her beautifully decorated Lemon Drizzle Cake

At Heartlands Care Home we have continued working hard on our CC in Bloom project 🌸🌿

As the weather hasn’t been the best lately, we brought the gardening indoors and our residents have still been getting creative and hands on. From indoor planting to learning how to make beautiful flowers out of pipe cleaners, everyone has had a lovely time sharing ideas, laughs and creativity together 💐✨

It’s wonderful to see our residents enjoying new activities and keeping our CC in Bloom spirit growing whatever the weather ☔🌼

Today at Heartlands Care Home we had the amazing Shannon the Shetland pony and her wonderful owner Janice visit us for some pony therapy 🐴💛

Our residents absolutely loved spending time with Shannon, with lots of smiles, cuddles and happy memories made throughout the day. It was such a special experience for everyone involved.

As part of our Pet Therapy Month this May, it’s been incredible to see the joy and comfort animals bring to our residents 🐾✨

Our residents have enjoyed spending time together creating an informative display board, which can now be found in our reception area.
The board helps raise awareness, share information, and encourage conversations around dementia.
We are passionate about creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for all of our residents and families living with dementia. Throughout the week, we will be raising awareness, sharing support, and showcasing the personalised care and activities we offer every day.

🌸🌿 Our residents at Heartlands have been getting wonderfully stuck into gardening as part of our CC in Bloom project! 🌿🌸
With the guidance of our amazing Head Gardener and support from the Wellbeing Team, everyone has been enjoying spending time outdoors, planting, tidying, and helping our gardens look beautiful. 🌼🪴
It’s been fantastic to see so much teamwork, laughter, and enthusiasm from residents as they get involved and take pride in creating colourful spaces for everyone to enjoy. Gardening is not only great fun, but also brings so many wellbeing benefits, from fresh air and gentle exercise to boosting mood and confidence.
A huge well done to everyone who has taken part so far — we are loving seeing Heartlands bloom! 🌷✨

A very special happy 5th birthday to our wonderful mascot, Denny! 🎉🐶

Our residents absolutely adore him and always look forward to his visits. Denny brings so much comfort, happiness, and laughter to everyone here at Heartlands. His cuddles, wagging tail, and friendly nature truly brighten our residents’ days. 💜
