HYROX London 2023 Wrap Up
Well what else is there to say but how mega proud the BFAST team are of these rockstars not only for stepping up to the plate for their first HYROX doubles but for all the effort and commitment to training in the weeks and months leading up.
I can’t lie - seeing people push out of their comfort zone and stepping into the unknown is super inspiring for me and paves the way for more people to take the plunge too!
First up duo and .charan (who saved the day last minute to step in for injured BFAST legend - you’ll be back!) who despite never even getting the chance to train together managed to put together in impressive 1:25 time.
And our power couple and - now things might not have gone to plan on the day but the hard work in the build up was done and so proud of you both for all the effort put in! 👀
Roll on London Olympia in May when we have even more BFAST legends getting into the mix - LFG! 🚀

*FLIGHT CLUB*
Yesterday some of our BFAST family headed to flight club in town and enjoyed an afternoon of Darts 🎯 followed by a few drinks in the sun ☀️ 🍹
I have 2 weeks left of coaching until I’m off on Maternity leave and wanted to see everyone out of the gym, catch up properly and have some fun before I pop my feet up! 🤱
Thank you so much to everyone who joined, it was such a fun afternoon and loved seeing you all at a different kind of bar! 😂❤️
Lots of mixed emotions about leaving coaching for a while as I love it so much and love catching up so many members I call friends 🥰
But you won’t get rid of me for to long, I’ll be lingering around the gym a lot I’m sure 😂🙋♀️

Shout out to our main man Seb for his Manchester Marathon performance a few weeks back!
Seb came to us wanting to improve his running performance and more importantly, fight off the aches, pains and niggles that go hand in hand with Road running.
Not only is he running quicker, but the injuries have been kept at bay too!
Fantastic work Seb, time to get ready for Edinburgh next 🏴

Where do you start? 🤔
It’s not helpful having so much confusing and contradicting info out there too.
Good and Bad food
Syns
Low carb diets
Keto
Sugar is the devil
Points
Fasting
Vegan
Palo
The list goes on and on
But I promise its actually quite simple
The next slide provides you with the secret to success! 🤫
There is no secret pill or potions, no fat loss super food or specific diet that works, its just about adding better things into your diet and reducing the things we know hold us back
Remember, meals out, alcohol, sweet treats and takeaways can exist in a healthy diet HOWEVER they have to exist around all the good stuff too.
I wish I could say we can achieve great results and benefit from only grabbing food on the go, not prepping meals at home, eating out all the time and drinking most nights, but its simply not true.
We need that BALANCE ⚖️
and the next slide provides that for you
OK it’s not sexy, but it is the real life secret to long term success for our health and body goals.
Stopping us from yo-yoing scale weight, being on and off diets, binge and restrict mentalities and all round frustration!

*What is the secret to success in health and fitness?!* 🤔
Currently our BFAST Book Club are reading *Atomic Habits* by James Clear
It’s a highly recommended read if you haven’t already!
Health, fitness, wellbeing, food and the gym are the one thing that everyone wants to be better at, but why can it be so hard for us to stick too?!😣
Hands up if you have yo-yoed with gym attendance, motivation, fad diets and scale weight 🙋♀️ Your really not alone!
So what’s the secret to long term success?
Well you gotta read the book for that answer 😉 BUT this is my powerful take home so far
Value the future more than the present.
I know work is stressful and the TV and sofa call is strong. 🛋️ 📺
I know prepping food is so much harder than just getting a take away. 🍲
I know your tired and an extra hour in bed seems like the needed option 🛌
I know your week has been super hard and you deserve a glass of wine… or too 🍷
I know things can feel so heavy and a reach for a cigarette can be the instant calm 💨
But what do these options mean in the long run?
Reduced strength and fitness and increased aches and pains each day which can lead to many problems as we grow older 👵🏻
A poor diet that will effect our body later with low mood, fatigue, lacking in important nutrients and even high blood pressure and diabetes
Increased anxiety and depression because you just dont have that get up and go 🙈
That feeling that its too late to start because you didn’t do it when you were younger and you just feel too unfit now😢
I know it’s frustrating when we dont get instant results from the gym, but they come later I promise! 💪
Our bodies and our health are worth time, dedication and investment. It’s your best and only home and the home that really is going to be with you forever. 🏡
So remember, value the future not the present and you’ll hold the secret everyone wants! 👏

It’s all about training and pregnancy! But this is truly for everyone as I can imagine there is a person in your life who is or has been pregnant 🤰
It can be scary to continue as normal or even begin training while you have a bun in the oven, due to the misguidence, lack of information, un-informed voices and blanket statements out there. But if you have a healthy pregnancy with no complications training and moving is so important for our growing babies and body. 💪
I share some of the mis information I was provided and even how I lost confidence in the gym for a few weeks, but after seeking advice and investing in some specialists I’m back and love training my new and expanding body!
Iv loved training since I found out I was pregnant 🤰 (little one even did a 92kg back squat with me at 2 weeks and I didn’t even know!!) 👶🏽 💪
9 times out of 10 it’s completely safe (and important!) to move your body during pregnancy 💪 however always make sure you get signed off first
I can’t wait to share more with you as my journey continues 😃 Its only just now I feel a few modifications need to made on certain exercises , but so far I feel FAB! 💃

Such a great day filming at BFAST for Paddy the Baddy 😍
Paddy’s passion for his brand of Kombucha has been an inspiration to watch (they’re located at the unit right opposite our gym) and has gone from a small one man band to being acquired by the mega Purity Brewing to spread the healthy good gut stuff far and wide!
If you’re into kombucha - this is the best stuff out there and full of so much more gut friendly healthy bacteria than the sugary pasteurised supermarket brands
