We are the Macc Care Group; a sought-after and respected group of care homes, in and around Birmingham. There are 6 homes currently within the Macc Care group; Priestley Rose, Church Rose, Meadow Rose, Abbey Rose, Wulfrun Rose and Austin Rose. All Macc Care homes, are recognised by the CQC, and are providers of high quality nursing under the NHS continuing healthcare framework. It’s not every day your local PCSOs turn up to join your fitness activities! 👮🏼

PCSO Karen and her team were great sports, playing a bat and balloon game with the residents to encourage gentle movement and improve coordination – as well as boost social interaction. 🎈

The room at Wyrley Rose was filled with laughter and cheers of encouragement throughout the session, and everyone had a brilliant time.

One of our residents at Watermead Rose, William, is a keen artist, with a particular love for painting the beautiful landscapes of Watermead Park.

Due to his health, he hadn’t been able to visit for some time – but our activities team were determined to help him reconnect with his lifelong passion. They organised a special trip, taking William and a small group of fellow residents down to the water’s edge for a peaceful afternoon of painting, wildlife watching, and fresh air.

With his paint set in hand, it was a joy to watch William bring the stunning scenery to life on paper – and even more special to see the happiness it brought him.

Supporting emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health, and we were delighted to help William revisit a place and pastime that means so much to him. 🎨

Over at Willow Rose, our residents have been undertaking a rather exciting project: making jam! 🍓

As well as donating little pots to local cafes for people to sample, they’re also selling the jam from the home to raise money to support local food banks, as part of their wider initiative to give back to the community.

It’s proving a huge success, having sold over 40 pots of jam in the first couple of weeks!

As well as making the jam itself, the residents also put pen to paper to write a poem about it, and had a hand in making the lids.

We’re delighted with the response and can’t wait to continue the venture over the coming weeks 🥰

A huge thank you to James Green from Tea from the Manor, who visited us with a beautiful selection of brews for our residents to taste-test.

James even created a bespoke 'Roses' tea just for Macc Care. Aptly named Lotus Rose, this blend of rose buds and jasmine petals tasted absolutely divine! 🌹😋

Once a month, we venture down to Boldmere St Michael’s football club to watch the local team play – and it’s always such a fun outing!

With some big football fans in the house, it not only helps them socialise and have fun, it also brings back memories of their younger years, and it’s wonderful to see how much they thrive on the side of the pitch.

Flowers bring so much joy to the soul 🌸🌷🌹🌼🪻

With their vibrant colours and grounding scents, they have a wonderful way of brightening a space and lifting our mood.

So, we hosted a flower arranging session for our residents at Abbey Rose, giving them the chance to express their creativity by pairing different stems to create stunning bouquets.

It was a lovely, social occasion – and the home looked and smelled amazing afterwards! ✨
