It’s been a busy and happy few weeks for everyone at MCG’s Brewers Meadow Supported Living Service!

🚗 Hamza and his staff went for a drive to Swansea, and he absolutely loved it.

💇‍♀️ Holly had her hair done and is loving her new cut and colour… she looks amazing!

💚 Holly and Sharon spent some time with our new resident Lorraine, helping her settle in and making her feel right at home.

🍟 Lorraine enjoyed a trip to McDonald’s for her tea (her favourite treat!) and a lovely walk in the park with Holly and her staff team exploring her new neighbourhood.

She’s been full of smiles and laughter – a wonderful start to her time at Brewers Meadow!

Hamza, who lives at our Brewers Meadow service, had a brilliant day out at the RAF Museum Cosford with his support team! ✈️

He enjoyed exploring the exhibits, learning about the history of aviation and seeing all the planes up close.

It’s lovely to see Hamza smiling and having fun – a big thank you to the staff team for helping make the day so special 😊

Lauren from Uxbridge had a fantastic trip to London! She stopped off at M&M’s World for some sweet treats 🍬 before heading to the theatre to watch Mamma Mia! 🎭💃.

Lauren loved the show and the whole experience, with Philipa there supporting her all the way. A brilliant day full of fun, music and memories 💛✨

☀️ Holiday mode: ON!

Billy and David from MCG’s Farriers service in Nuneaton enjoyed a fantastic holiday to the Isle of Wight with support from our brilliant team.

From the boat ride across the water to walks along the beach, they loved every moment — smiles, sunshine and new experiences all round! 🌊💙

We love to see people we support enjoying holidays, trips and short breaks - helping to build confidence and make memories.

Andrew, Holly, and Sharon have been working together to create a new “Welcome to Our Home” wall at Brewers Meadow.

The idea came from Andrew and Holly, who were really excited to get started. 👏

It’s a lovely way to make the space feel warm, personal and inviting for everyone who lives and visits here! 💚

📸 Reggie was all smiles after her visit to the local hairdressers! 💇‍♀️💚

She was supported by staff at our Uxbridge service to book her appointment independently, a brilliant way to build both confidence and skills.

Reggie was really pleased with her haircut and it gave her a lovely boost.

Deputy Locality Manager
Forge Mill, Redditch
Full-Time
Up to £29,000.00 (DOE)

As our Deputy Locality Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring person‑centred, high-quality care within our growing Supported Living service.

You will:

Lead the day-to-day operations of supported living services
Develop and implement tailored care plans
Mentor and support a team of dedicated caregivers
Act as the primary point of contact in the Locality Manager’s absence
Uphold compliance with safeguarding protocols and CQC standards

We’re seeking someone with:

Prior experience in a senior or deputy role with adults with learning disabilities
NVQ Level 4 or Level 5 (Management), or willingness to work toward one
Strong IT, verbal, and written communication skills
Solid knowledge and practical experience with the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
Flexibility that is including participation in an on-call rota

🇯🇲 Jamaican Independence Day at Castle Road! 🇯🇲

What an amazing day celebrating Jamaican Independence with the people we support and staff from both Castle Road and Brewers Meadow! 🎉

Everyone came together at Castle to mark the occasion with great food, drinks, music, games and plenty of laughter. 🎶🥳🍽️

It was a lovely chance to celebrate culture, community, and connection.

Big shout out and thank you to the teams at both services for making the event such a success and of course to everyone who came along and joined in the celebrations. 🙌🏽💚💛🖤

Simon, from our Pedmore Walk service and a member of the Black Country Jigsaw group, recently enjoyed a brilliant day trip to Barry Island with his support staff, Angie. ☀️💚

The weather was good, spirits were high and Simon rounded off the day in the best way – with classic fish and chips by the sea! 🐟🍟

As a big Gavin & Stacey fan, Simon was especially excited to visit the show’s filming spots – and he was thrilled to get some great photos outside Marco’s Café 📸.

It’s always lovely to see people doing the things they enjoy, exploring new places and creating memories along the way.

It’s been a brilliant few weeks at Castle Road, with the people we support getting stuck into a whole range of fun and meaningful activities👇

🏖️ Scott has had a packed schedule – from a fab day out at Alton Towers, to food shopping and prepping for a BBQ, to enjoying the sunshine over lunch with friends.

🎨 Nung has been shining at college, baking and creating artwork and making the most of every opportunity to learn and express himself.

🍔 Lyndon, Trevor and Scott also got together for a relaxed BBQ in the garden with staff and friends – lots of laughs and great food!

💬 It’s been amazing to see such strong community spirit, confidence and joy from everyone at Castle Road….living independently, building life skills
and making memories together over summer ☀️

Shaun, from our Pedmore Walk service in Oldbury, has recently started a new hobby… fishing… and it’s been great to see how much he’s enjoying it. 🐟

These photos were taken by the canal in Oldbury, where Shaun spent the day outdoors, supported by the MCG Black Country team. He was really pleased with his catches and proud of what he has achieved. 👏

It’s always encouraging to see the people we support trying new things, spending time in nature and growing in confidence at their own pace.
