A recent report has shown that the percentage of female undergraduates has risen to 63.4%. Dentistry was traditionally seen as a male-dominated profession. But, according to data from the NHS, the number of women in dentistry has been steadily rising for the last decade. In fact, of all the dentists aged under 35, more than half of the workforce are female.

Here’s some more good news about red wine.

Studies in Italy have shown that chemicals in red wine known as proanthocyanidins seem to prevent the bacteria Streptococcus Mutans which causes tooth decay, from sticking to the saliva and teeth.

So that glass of red wine that you pour each day to help your heart health, may also be helping to keep your mouth healthy by inhibiting tooth decay and gum disease.
