Yoga Really Works

Yoga Really Works I teach slow, mindful, compassionate focused Yoga classes in Bournville, Kings Norton, Stirchley & Cotteridge, Birmingham.

Hello I am a traditional Hatha teacher of the slow, mindful kind. Classes @ Rowheath Pavilion, Bournville and Cotteridge Friends Meeting House, Birmingham. I guide Yoga that benefits your nervous system! We could all do with a dose of self compassion and that’s at the forefront too…

Beyond yoga i enjoy the outdoors and traveling to warmer climates, reading Steven King (yeah right!) and visiting art galleries.

Something happens every week in Stirchley which could help with your chronic health condition

On Thursdays, George guides a class called ‘Yoga for Chronic Conditions’

She said: “This series of classes is designed especially for anyone living with a chronic health condition - whether physical or emotional - who wants to move with care, find calm and rediscover a sense of connection with themselves. Yoga, when practiced slowly and consciously, offers a way to rebuild that relationship with compassion and patience.”

The class uses chairs, and all equipment is provided, so just take yourself and perhaps a bottle of water along

Real review from a current participant, Lorraine:

“Have been going to George's class for Chronic Conditions for about 2 years or so and they are always uplifting. George makes the class to suit everyone's needs and abilities. She is kind, compassionate and fun to be with. Have no hesitation in recommending her classes.”

Lorraine’s words are why I teach this work. If the thought of movement feels risky because of pain, inflammation, or fatigue, you’re not expected to ‘do it right’ — only to practise with kindness.
Classes start from Monday 5th January.
Limited spaces- go to www.yogareallyworks.co.uk to register (not required for Chair Yoga at Bournville Gardens.)

As we move into a new year, it’s easy to feel like we should be doing more, pushing harder, or keeping up.
Yoga for All is an invitation to do the opposite.
These classes are slow, mindful and supportive — especially for beginners or anyone who’s felt unsure about yoga in the past. Everything is guided, rest is encouraged and you’re always welcome exactly as you are.

🌱 No experience needed

Is your internal battery feeling flat this season? You’re not alone. The “business” of December — organising, obligations, bright screens, decisions — can leave our bodies and nervous systems drained.
Accessible, holistic practices don’t force energy — they teach you how to refill it from the inside. In our January series you’ll learn simple breathing, short movement sequences and micro-rest tools designed for chronic fatigue and pain.
Sign up today for a free mini video that shows two gentle practices you can use right away to begin recharging. No pressure, only care.
