BRACHIOPLASTY
The surgical rejuvenation of the upper arm remains a persistent problem for both the patient and the surgeon, despite the many techniques that have been proposed for its improvement. The goal of the brachioplasty is to reduce skin redundancy and to reduce the circumference of the arm. When there is good skin tone or minimal skin sagging, fat deposits can be reduced by liposuction. But marked skin redundancy or laxity can only be improved by surgery. The incision has to be placed in an axillar crease and in the internal aspect of the arm along a line extending from the axilla to the epicondyle of the elbow. Then a piece of skin-dermis and fat is removed and the subcutis and skin are closed using routine aesthetic suturing.

LIPOSUCTION
INTRODUCTION
Liposuction, also known as liposculpture or suction assisted lipectomy, is a technique to remove unwanted fat deposits. The unsightly distribution of body fat is usually due to an inborn tendency to deposit fat in one particular area of the body, mostcommonly the hips. Other areas include; the neck, arms, tummy, loins, thighs, inner side of the knees and the ankles. The growth of a benign fat tumour (lipoma) can also be a disfigurement, and in men fatty swellings can develop under the ni***es to look like breasts (gynaecomastia).

LIPOABDOMINOPLASTY MY WAY
The 'lock and glue' tummy tuck

Lipoabdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a common plastic surgery operation. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons(BAAPS) reported 3,147 patients operated by BAAPS members in 2010. It is very effective for correction of skin overhang and muscle laxity after weight loss or pregnancies. These conditions are not addressed well by liposuction alone or any of the popular skin tightening devices in the market.

From June 2010 to the present, I started an innovative approach combining internal locking stitches, tissue glue and local anaesthetic infusion pumps without the use of drains ( tubes left within the abdominal wound to drain excess blood and body fluids) on all my lipoabdominoplasty patients. The result was greater comfort for the patients, earlier mobilisation, earlier discharge and less risk of complications. The quilting and liposuction was effective in creating a more athletic looking abdomen with greater definitions. I call this the 'lock and glue' or 'super glue' tummy tuck.

This was presented as a poster at our 2011 BAAPS Annual Meeting at the International Convention Center in Birmingham and we won the top prize!

Thank you to all my patients who have been blogging their positive experience and sharing this in discussion groups on the net. I do think this innovative approach is not just my way but the winning way.
'LOCK AND GLUE' or SUPER GLUE TUMMY TUCK
This is a presentation modified for general public viewing of my 'lock and glue' or superglue tummy tuck.

The original presentation was an analysis of my first 100 patients. This was presented as a poster at the 2011 British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons(BAAPS) meeting and it won the first prize.

I was then invited to present this as a talk with additional video footages of the procedure at the Internatinal BODY Conference in 2012.

BTL EXILIS
At Kat & Co Aesthetics, we provide a wide range of treatments designed to enhance physical appearance and inner confidence. Our BTL Exilis treatment is a non-surgical skin tightening and fat reduction procedure which stimulates fat lipolysis (programmed death of fat cells) using ultrasound technology and skin tightening (including collagen and elastin production) using radiofrequency. The BTL Exilis treatment can treat a number of conditions including:

Jowls
Love Handles
Saggy Skin
Bingo Wings
Sagging Neck
Fat Thighs
Loose Skin
You can essentially combine skin tightening and fat reduction to achieve body contouring results from top to toe.
WHAT IS BTL EXILIS?
BTL Exilis is a radiofrequency and ultrasound treatment designed promote the tightening of skin and the break down of fat cells. This versatile radiofrequency & ultrasound device can be used to target the skin and subcutaneous fats at various controlled depth for optimal skin tightening.

In addition to stimulating collagen production, controlled destruction of superficial fatty tissues can also be achieved, if indicated. A programme of treatment consists of 4 sessions performed 1-2 weeks apart.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is the right candidate for Exilis Ultra 360?
Exilis is ideal for anyone looking for rejuvenation or body contouring whether it be preventative or for visible improvements without the need to consider surgery. The new 360-degree tip performs even on the most wrinkled and problematic treatment zones.

How long is the treatment and how many sessions do I need?
Each treatment of a specific body part usually takes around 30 minutes and we recommend a course of 4 sessions spaced 7-10 for the face or 7-14 days apart for the body for long-lasting results.

How much does the treatment cost?
The cost of a course of 4 sessions to one area on the body starts at £600 - £1000 depending on the size and £400 - £1100 per area on the face. You will get a personalised treatment plan and cost during your consultation with our Exilis doctor Dr Ana.

How fast will I see results?
Some patients report seeing visible results after only one treatment, however the time does vary and results will generally continue to improve over the next 2 - 3 months.

What does the procedure feel like? Is it painful?
Most patients describe the sensation of the therapy as being similar to that of a pain-free, hot stone massage. The treatment is performed in a lying-down position so you can easily relax during the procedure.

How long do the results last?
The results for skin tightening are variable but last on average for 18 months. Fat reduction is permanent as the fat cells are destroyed. You can opt to do single maintenance sessions every 6 - 12 months to maintain your results for a significantly longer duration.

INTRODUCTION
The two stitch mini Facelift is an advanced version of thread lifts. Conventional thread lifts involve the use of barbed threads of various description, with no removal of excess skins and the duration of the results are dependent on the scarring and fibrosis that follow.

Both the two stitch mini facelift and it's predecesor, the one stitch mini facelift, involves the removal of skin from the front of the ears. It is a minimally invasive procedure which can be carried out safely under local anesthesia. It has evolved from the one stitch mini facelift and has an improved longetivity as it involves the deeper structures.

The differences between the two stitch mini facelift and the one stitch mini facelift are summarised in the following table. It is important to note that the effect in the neck is noticeable only in patients with a thin neck.
This is a great procedure for patients who want a more subtle result and who are not ready for a full facelift. It is performed under local anaesthesia, takes one and a half hours to perform and patients can return back to work after 14 days. The scars are well hidden within the hairline and the junction between ears and the face. The risks of complications are less compared to a full facelift. The results are immediate but subtle and effective in lifting and tightening the skin along the cheeks and jawline.

Combined with Botox to smoothen out lines and dermal fillers to replace volume loss, the two stitch mini facelift is even more dramatic in achieving a complete facial rejuvenation.
