Ann Burness Reiki

Ann Burness Reiki The Japanese word Reiki (pronounced ray-key) actually translates as 'universal life energy'.

Ann Burness - Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher (UK Reiki Federation Member)

Reiki is a gentle but powerful complementary energy healing therapy that may be used alongside, but not as an alternative to conventional medicine. The Universe is filled with invisible energy that is present in all living things, flowing through our energy centres (chakras), and network of meridians. When this energy flow is uninterrupted, it allows balance and harmony within and around us; we then can experience a state of calm, well-being and peace. It can be likened to a lamp plugged into an electrical socket; when the switch is turned on, energy is able to flow into the lamp and the bulb will light. The moment that the switch is turned off and the energy flow is blocked, the bulb will no longer glow. Reiki is simply beautiful, and how privileged we are to be able to use this gentle but powerful energy alongside, but not as an alternative to conventional medicine. Reiki is always used only for good, not linked to any religion, and can be enjoyed by all groups and states of health. Reiki is deeply relaxing, calming, and can help us cope with day to day pressures and stresses by bringing balance to mind, body and emotions. Animals also enjoy the soothing, calming effect of Reiki, they seem to instinctively know that it will help them heal. Just like we do, animals experience a variety of emotions, and physical pain. Using Reiki can help them during times where they feel anxious, depressed or in pain. My aim as a practitioner is to channel this wonderful energy to help you begin to heal yourself, bringing balance and restoring harmony. Many people who enjoy Reiki frequently find their overall state of mind is more positive and they are able to live in that 'now' moment more often, rather than continually worrying about the past and the future.

Distance Reiki Treatments sound so bizarre and whacky but they work brilliantly well. This is the way I am continuing to work now because of how effective distance treatments are. I always offer a firsst treatment for half price to give people chance to try it without paying the earth. The way I work is to use a teddy bear as a surrogate for the person, and the beauty of this way is that I can work in exactly the same way as an in person treatment, so using all of the same balancing techniques or crystals but without having to consider where I am putting my hands! Also, more convenient because there is no travelling to do, so cuts out on journey time, with the added benefit of being able to relax in your own bed listening to music of your choice.

Well, I had hoped to be getting back to in-person work in early January, but I think this new variant might have other plans! In the meantime, distance treatments are an excellent way of receiving Reiki and although it sounds totally bizarre, they work really well. Take great care of yourselves and stay safe.

Hope everyone is taking extra care to stay safe with this wretched virus not seeming to be done with us yet! If you are getting out and about next week once more things are opening up, take great care, life is a precious gift.

Just wanted to say Happy Christmas to everyone and hope that 2021 will be a better year. I also wanted to say a massive thank you to all those lovely people out there who have kept us all going throughout this horrible year, we would all have been totally lost without you! Also, thank you to all of those amazing people who are working through Christmas and with these new last minute changes now going to lose the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones - thank you so much! Keeping the hope that 2021 will be a better year for everyone. xx

Can't believe that we are in mid-November already! Where has the year flown to? I think that we are all having to adapt to this wretched virus and find different ways of doing things safely. I am loving doing the distance Reiki treatments and my dogs are also enjoying this! Dougal loves to put his paws on my lap after I have just finished a treatment, and then rub his back on the floor right by my feet, then each ear - he just loves picking up the dregs of the energy surrounding me!

I can't believe where this year is flying to, but certainly bringing many changes for everyone. I am still unable to do in-person Reiki treatments or training, but I am thoroughly enjoying this way of working through distance treatments. Distance treatments sound totally whacky, but they are incredibly helpful, and everyone who is having treatments in this way is finding them to be really beneficial. I use a teddy bear as a surrogate for the person I am 'sending' Reiki to, make a good connection with the person using the Distance symbol, and then for all intents and purposes, the teddy bear becomes the person, and I can treat in exactly the same way as if they are on the treatment table. In fact, sometimes it can be easier because there are not restrictions on where I can work on the bear! Also an exceptionally effective way of working with an animal. More details on my website annburnessreiki.com if anyone is interested. If no, no worries! Many Reiki blessings to everyone, and hope for this virus to wave us a fast goodbye. Stay safe.

Hope everyone is keeping safe and well. Obviously I can't do in-person treatments at the moment, but I am able to do distance Reiki treatments, which sounds totally bizarre, but it actually works brilliantly. Take great care.

16/05/2020

Sincerely hope that everyone is keeping well and staying safe. While I am closed for in-person treatments and training, I am still available for distance treatments, which sound very whacky, but it is a really effective way of receiving Reiki.

I hope everyone is well, staying safe and looking after everyone else by staying at home as we are all being asked to do. What I want to say is a massive thank you to the group of people who are not being given a mention anywhere. They are the wonderful vets and veterinary nurses, reception staff and all of the other veterinary staff. They are also putting themselves at risk to keep going and look after our beloved animals. THANK YOU!

Okay, so clearly that didn't work!

My friend Jennifer sent this to me and I am sharing as a photo in the hope that as many people will see it.

Well, I have taught my last Level 1 course of the year, but looking forward to the next one in January on 25th and 26th. Can't believe how fast this year has gone! Gift Vouchers available if anyone is stuck for a different Christmas gift!

So what I want to know is how my dog just seems to know when I am about to do a self-treatment? All I need to do is to pick up my earphones and he goes to find the biggest, noisiest, Nylabone to chew, and sits right by me, and he never fails to do it!

Had a lovely weekend teaching my Level 2 Attunement and Skills Workshop with some lovely people - thank you for a brilliant experience! Looking forward to my next Level 1 course in October and my Level 2 course in November. Details on my website if anyone is interested!

14/02/2019

I have changed the way in which I show my training courses here now. Instead of listing several courses, I intend to put an event on just a couple of months before the actual date of the course. All of my course dates are available on my website annburnessreiki.com.

24/01/2019

If you are interested in a course, have a look on my website, dates are on there.

Please ignore the post below, have no idea what I have done, but the Level 1 courses are still running!
