Today, we honor every woman’s strength, resilience, and contributions.

Malala Yousafzai reminds us: ‘We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back.’ Together, we’re breaking barriers and shaping a world where gender equality isn’t just a goal, but a reality.

Let’s continue to uplift and support one another, not just today, but every day.

The Million Women Rise (MWR) march is a women-only protest that takes place annually in London to end violence against women and girls.

The march takes place on a Saturday 8th March / International Women's Day.

The march is organised by grassroots activists and women-lead organisations.

It is led by Black/Global Majority Women.

The march was founded in 2007 by campaigner Sabrina Qureshi.

The march starts in Hyde Park and moves through Oxford Street, Regents Street, and Piccadilly Circus to Trafalgar Square where where survivors of violence speak their truth.

The march is a demand for an end to male violence against women and girls and stands for justice, safety, and liberation.

The Birmingham chapter will meet at 8.30am Saturday.
