BIG ANNOUNCEMENT...

We're opening our Southern Training Centre in Hemel Hempstead!

We’re proud to share the latest step in the Up To Speed journey - the opening of our new Southern training hub in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire!

For years, clients from the south have made the journey up to Birmingham to train with us, and we’ve always been grateful for their dedication. Now, we’re bringing that same trusted Up To Speed service closer to home.

Our Hemel Hempstead centre will provide a range of courses all available at a convenient location for clients across the South and South East.

This isn’t just about geography - it’s about continuing our commitment to making high-quality, reliable training as accessible as possible for the whole industry.

We’d like to thank everyone who’s supported us on the journey so far.

We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new learners through the doors at Hemel Hempstead soon!

Up To Speed Training are proud have of been the official tournament sponsors for Birmingham based netball team Parkside Netball Club who travelled to Butlins Skegness recently to compete against some of the best teams from around the country in the Leeds Rhinos Netball Festival. 🏐

The whole team did themselves proud and had a great weekend eventually finishing runners up 🥈with the outcome being decided on the final game where the winners would be crowned champions, unfortunately missing out to the group winners DRET All Stars. This was a huge achievement considering the majority of the team are normally U14 age group players so were competing against players a year older and more experienced than them. 🙌

It was an honour to be presented with their runners up award by former Parkside and England player Layla Guscoff.

Well done Parkside an amazing achievement and who knows maybe next year you can go that one step further. 💚

We Heard You Loud and Clear! 👂🌬️

We've been busy gathering your feedback from training courses held at our head office, and we've heard a common theme: comfort is key to concentration!

We're thrilled to announce that we've installed air conditioning in our newest training room! 🎉 This means all three of our dedicated training spaces – the Red 🔴 , Amber 🟠, and Green 🟢 Rooms – now offer a comfortably controlled environment.

Our goal is to ensure every learner has the ideal setting to focus, absorb information, and get the most out of their training with us. Your comfort directly contributes to the most effective learning outcomes, and we're committed to providing just that.

Thank you for helping us make our training experience even better!

And thank you to PRA Air Conditioning Ltd for the continued support and service during the installation process.

Driver CPC – What's New?

If you’re a professional driver of heavy goods vehicles (HGV’s) in the UK, Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is something you’ll likely already be familiar with. It’s a legal requirement designed to maintain high driving standards and road safety across the industry.

Every five years, drivers must complete 35 hours of periodic training to stay qualified.

So...What’s New? The Introduction of 3.5-Hour CPC Modules

Historically, this training has been delivered in 7-hour blocks, usually making up 1 day of training for each module.

But, with the DVSA’s recent changes, approved training providers can now offer 3.5-hour modules. This new format gives drivers and companies more flexibility to structure training sessions around operational needs, shift patterns, and availability.

Whether it’s breaking down training over shorter timeframes, combining modules on different days, or simply allowing for more digestible learning, this change is designed to make staying compliant more accessible than ever.

For more information about Driver CPC and how Up To Speed can help you and your business, read this featured article from HighwaysIndustry.Com: https://www.highwaysindustry.com/up-to-speed-training-enhancing-road-safety-workforce-standards-driver-cpc-periodic-training-courses/

Up To Speed Takes to the Road for the Keith Baldwin Memorial Rally!

From June 9th to 13th, Up To Speed Training will be proudly taking part in the Keith Baldwin Memorial Rally – a cross-Europe fundraising journey in memory of a man who meant so much to so many.

Keith sadly lost his life in 2024 following a battle with pancreatic cancer, and, as car enthusiast through and through, this rally is a fitting tribute to a man whose influence rippled through the highways sector – including right here at Up To Speed.

In our early days, Keith’s belief in what we were trying to build helped to push us forward. His support helped shape the foundations of who we are today, and it’s a privilege to honour his memory while raising vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

We’ll be rallying alongside others from across the industry, united by purpose and friendship to make a difference to those who need help.

If you'd like to support the cause, we’d be extremely grateful.

You can donate here: https://gofund.me/8e6b940e

While we’re away, please bear with us with response time to enquiries– we’re slightly down on troops in the office as our team take to the road in honour of a great man, for a great cause.
