The five love languages

We all speak and understand love differently. Scientists distinguish between 5 love language types: Acts of Service, Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, and Physical Touch

Acts of Service: Demonstrating affection by doing helpful tasks or chores that lighten your partner’s load.
Words of Affirmation: Communicating love through spoken appreciation, compliments, and encouraging words.
Receiving Gifts: Showing love with thoughtful, symbolic presents that convey care and appreciation, regardless of their cost.
Physical Touch: Communicating love through physical connection—such as hugs, hand-holding, kisses, or cuddling.
Quality Time: Expressing affection by offering focused attention and sharing meaningful conversations or activities.

Which love language are you? And do you know your partners?

Relationship Spotlight - Avoidant Attachment Style

Those of us with avoidant attachment tend to suppress our emotions. We might even sabotage our relationships to avoid emotional vulnerability. Closeness feels like a threat.

We often idealize our partners in the beginning of our relationships. Over time this ideal wears off and we start to disengage.

Luckily no attachment style is permanent. We can guide you to a secure attachment style.

Those of us with fearful-avoidant attachment often suffer from anxiety. We are trapped in a constant state of hypervigilance and a feeling that the world or relationships are unsafe.
