We are very proud of Wayne Hartley, who represented Great Britain at this year’s World Transplant Games in Dresden, Germany.

Medilink was very proud to support Wayne with a donation towards competing in the games, with his events covering a 5k road race, ten pin bowling, a triathlon relay, a 1500m race and 4x400 relay. And yes, he did bring home plenty of medals for his brilliant performances!

Is your stoma bleeding? Here’s what you need to know.

The bowel has a very good blood supply, which is why the stoma is pink/red in colour. Whilst cleaning your stoma, a small amount of bleeding on the cloth is to be expected.

If you notice light bleeding, take a moment to check where the blood is coming from and use a clean dry pad to gently apply pressure. Often this stops any bleeding.

If you see blood inside your stoma bag or in your stool, you should reach out to a medical professional.

The Central Skin Sciences Institute conducts important studies to help us understand skin function and how that can influence adhesive technology for medical devices.
