Birmingham LINk

Birmingham LINk Birmingham LINk is your place to have a say on any health or social care issue that may affect you or your community in Birmingham, UK.

Birmingham Local Involvement Network (Birmingham LINk) is a voluntary organisation that enables people to have a say on health and adult social health care issues affecting their communities. As a volunteers-led organisation, we are fully independent from government. Our aim is to influence the commissioning and provision of health and adult social care services by ensuring that communities in Birmingham have a voice. As an organisation established by an Act of Parliament, we have powers to enter and view premises. Providers and commissioners must respond to us within twenty days. We encourage members of the public to 'make it happen' by engaging with the work that we do. The level of involvement is entirely up to each individual and it can vary from receiving information from us or attending events to joining one of our Action Groups. Our Action Groups focus on themes or areas of Birmingham, working around issues set out in their action plans. Through their work, Birmingham LINk aims to influence the decision making processes of both commissioning bodies and service providers. Currently, Birmingham LINk has six Action Groups: Birmingham East and North, Heart of Birmingham, Mental Health, Older Persons, University Hospitals Birmingham and Women's Health and Maternity.
