Yummy Yoga Mummies is ran by Caron Millard, a Registered Midwife with 40 years experience to share with you in her Pregnancy Yoga Classes, Hypnobirthing and Pre-Birth Courses and her Baby First Aid Classes. Hypnobirthing enables you to work with your body in a totally natural way, making birth a positive experience for you, your baby and your partner. Fear, anxiety and stress are removed and, because of this, pain is reduced, enabling the birth of your baby to be easier, calmer and much more comfortable. So it’s Monday again!

And of course that can only mean one thing - Yes the Mom’s of Sutton Coldfield will be out in force on their weekly “Stride & Survive Walk” in Sutton Park enjoying their weekly dose of fun and laughter as they get a few steps in and blow the cobwebs away at the same time.

We meet at 1 20pm outside Costa Coffee at Wyndley Leisure Centre and we start walking at 1 30pm sharp as some moms may need to do the school run so we usually finish around 2 45pm.

The walk is led by myself and so as a Midwife I am always on hand for a chat if you are feeling a little overwhelmed with everything and I can also answer any questions or worries you might have on the way around.

So if you have seen my previous posts and are feeling a bit nervous to join us - PLEASE DON”T BE - Many a new mom has turned up and been warmly welcomed into the clan and wished they had joined us sooner!

This is no cost to join this event and there is nothing fancy to do or wear - just wrap up warm, grab a coffee at Costa if you like and just enjoy some wonderful company and relax and enjoy the company of other moms just like you.

There are no clicky moms here - just a few normal women trying to get through the day the best they can - and that insludes me too!

Remember we are all winging it at the end of the day!

Looking forwards to seeing you soon
💕

So I just received a very simple but such a lovely message from Manjit who did my Group Hypnobirthing Course and has just given birth to her first baby at home 🙌🏡

First and foremost Manjit, huge congratulations to you both and well done you my lovely 🥰

You did amazing 🤩

This simple but lovely message just proves that every word we say to pregnant moms really does make a difference to them and really can make or break them and that includes their birth experience too 😅🥲

As health care professionals and even as relatives, friends and work colleagues we do need to mind our language around our pregnant moms as language and words are more powerful than we will ever realise 😅

Words spoken to us stay forever with us in our minds whether they are positive or negative 😔

Women don’t need to be made to feel anxious or worried about birth, they need to be empowered and by that I don’t mean that they need to be made to feel they need to imagine they are on a “flying carpet” to achieve a positive birth as I’ve personally never seen that one work either 😅😩😔

What they need are simple, true and straight forward kind and gentle words from us all as their brains are focusing on other priorities whilst they are pregnant 🤰

So let’s empower our pregnant moms and remind them always that they can do this as they were made to do this ….and if we do this we are definitely giving them the power to actually do it 🙌🥰

Well done again Manjit - I told you you could do it my lovely and you did 🙌💕

Lots of love from me 💕🥰🙏

Preparing to give birth 👩‍🍼 can feel overwhelming. Many moms (and dads) feel anxious or unsure about how they’ll cope, and of course
that is completely normal and I hear you 😅

But please don’t worry, because you can learn to feel calmer, more supported, and understand just how well your body is designed to give birth 💗

🌿 So… what is Hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is a gentle way of preparing for and understanding the birth process and how the hormones you produce are very different when you are anxious than when you are relaxed 😊

It teaches you how your body and mind work together so you can feel calmer, safer, and more confident during your labour.

It’s about understanding your physiology, reducing your fear of birth and using simple tools like breathing and relaxation to support you on the day 👩‍🍼

🙋‍♀️ Why does fear matter :

✅ When you feel scared or anxious, your body produces adrenaline, which can slow down or even stop labour completely 😅 This is because your body won’t release your precious baby into what it believes is danger, even if the danger is only in your mind 😩

The fear of birth is one of many reasons so many labours today become long and exhausting 😢

🌸 Here’s how my Hypnobirthing Course will help you:

✅ I’ll explain exactly how fear affects your labour hormones and why it can slow everything down.
✅ Then I’ll show you how calm, relaxed states boost your natural “birth hormones” like oxytocin which helps your labour to progress smoothly.
✅ You’ll learn simple breathing techniques to help you stay relaxed and focused.
✅ Your partner will learn how to support you confidently and lovingly every step of the way.
✨ If you are looking for :

🌿 A calmer, more relaxed, drug-free birth
🌿 To understand what’s happening in your body
🌿 A partner who knows exactly how to support you
🌿 A birth experience that feels empowering rather than frightening…then Hypnobirthing is perfect for you. 💖

As a midwife I can promise you that I offer the most effective Hypnobirthing Courses out there …..and also the most reasonably priced too as I want this to be available to as many women as possible 🙏💕🥰

Good evening everyone 💕

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks teaching lots of classes and courses, but I have such a wonderful Birth Story to share with you all this evening from our lovely Holly from my Sutton Coldfield Pregnancy Yoga Class 🤰 AKA Holly Hypno 💕

First and foremost Holly, huge congratulations to you on the birth of Pia, she is just adorable and you look absolutely wonderful 💕💕💕

Well what can I say 🙋‍♀️💕 You did it again my lovely and I’m so, so happy for you 🙌💕

I first met Holly three years ago when I went to her home to do Hypnobirthing with her and I knew as soon as I met her that she was a natural Earth Mother and that she just understood the birth process and more importantly she knew what she needed to do and she did it 🙌🥰

We are living now in a time where Caesarian births are higher than vaginal births and for me personally as a midwife, it makes no sense to me and also makes me extremely sad too 🥲

How have we gotten to a point in time where women no longer trust their bodies to do the one thing we are here to do 🙋‍♀️💕

We all need to take a step back and stop ✋

We need to start talking more positively about birth 👩‍🍼

We need to start empowering mothers-to-be to believe in themselves again 🙏💕

We need to take our power back and trust our bodies, because our bodies are truly amazing 🤩

We can do this ladies 🙌💕

YOU can do this 🙌💕

Speak to the older women in your family and listen to their birth stories (as in really listen) how simply and easily they gave birth without fuss and Caesarian’s over and over again …..you will learn a lot if you do 🥰

Holly it’s been wonderful having you in yoga and you’ve been such a positive presence in the class and I thank you so much for that my lovely 🥰

Thank you for sharing your birth with us all and I sure it will inspire and motivate the other moms to be 🙏💕

Lots of love from me to you 💕🥰🙏

🌿 This post is for all you new moms out there quietly wondering why your partner suddenly feels unbelievably annoying to you 😅😩🥲

I want you to hear this from a midwife who has supported more new parents than I have had hot dinners 🥘

👉 It is completely NORMAL for your relationship to change after having a baby ✔️

Your hormones are wild, your sleep is minimal, your body is recovering from pregnancy and healing from birth and your life and responsibilities have tripled overnight 😅

And yes, in the middle of all that?

‼️ Your partner might suddenly seem more annoying than ever ✔️

‼️ The way they chew, breathe, sleep, or even just look can irritate the hell out of you ✔️

‼️ You may feel less connected, less patient, and even less in love with him or her ✔️

And yes I know …. that can feel very scary 😧

But please know this:

❌ This doesn’t mean your relationship is broken ❌

✅ It means you are exhausted, overwhelmed, and navigating the hardest transition of your life.

✅ Your frustration is often just a sign that you need more rest, support, and space to heal.

✅ This phase happens to practically all couples, but with time, communication, and a little compassion (for each other) your love and connection returns …Often stronger. Often deeper 💕

So if you’re thinking, “Why is my partner driving me mad right now?” Just remember that you are not alone

Your relationship is NOT falling apart …….You are just adjusting ✔️

So gentle with yourself (and him 😅) You’re both learning a new rhythm — and your relationship will, too 💕🥰🙏

🤢 Let’s clear up a big Pregnancy Myth once and for all 😅💕

Morning sickness does not only happen in the morning! It can and does happen at anytime of the day or night even 😔

As a midwife, I hear this all the time — “Why do I feel so sick all day long if it’s called morning sickness?”

Pregnancy nausea most commonly known as “Morning Sickness” can genuinely occur at any time of day or night unfortunately 😩

This could be early morning as you wake up, afternoon time whilst you are at work, in an evening as you start to settle down to watch your favourite TV programme and even in the middle-of-the-night as you try to get some well earned sleep.

For some really unfortunate moms-to-be ……it could also be all of the above 😅😩🥲

The nausea is triggered by rapid hormonal shifts (especially hCG), changes in blood sugar levels, a heightened sense of smell, tiredness, and even an empty stomach.

For many moms, the nausea actually feels worse later in the day when they are tired which as we know makes everything seem worse 🥲

If you are struggling with morning (or evening) sickness ….here are a few simple tips that may help you 🙏💕

• Try eating small, frequent meals, even if you don’t really fancy it because you need to keep your blood sugars up.

• Don’t let your stomach get completely empty for the same reason as above. Keeping crackers or biscuits by the bed can help have something to hand first thing in a morning, especially ginger biscuits 🍪

• Sip fluids regularly throughout the day to keep you hydrated without overloading your stomach.

• Rest whenever you can nausea is exhausting and could increase with tiredness.

• Avoid smells or foods that trigger you and avoid tea and coffee too.

• Sea sickness bands are inexpensive to buy and many women do report that they have had some relief with using them.

• Sucking on mints or drinking mint or ginger tea can help sooth an unsettled tummy quite well too.

✨ Most importantly do remember for the vast majority of women this WILL pass usually by 18 weeks (not 12 unfortunately, that’s another myth 😅)

Be kind to yourself 🙏💕
