NRS Healthcare goes into liquidation, a major development in the health and social care sector.
NRS supplied nearly 40% of England’s community healthcare equipment. Its sudden collapse has triggered warnings from councils and health professionals about the risk to patients’ safety and dignity.
Occupational therapists are urging the government to address this crisis, stressing that equipment provision is pivotal to future health reforms.
Access to Work is a vital scheme supporting disabled people in employment yet less than 1% of eligible workers use it. Delays, low rates, and planned cuts are leaving people burned out, in debt, or losing support.
Their open letter urges the government to stop cuts and co-create a fit-for-purpose service.

The Naidex Team were at the UK House of Lords yesterday for the launch of the Final Report for The Lilac Review UK led by Small Business Britain.
The Lilac Review has highlighted the challenges faced by Disabled founders, who make up 25% of small business owners yet remain significantly underrepresented.
The discussion focused on positive changes for disabled entrepreneurs, including a new growth programme and mentorship opportunities directly resulting from the review. A significant development is the Disability Finance Code, now endorsed by major UK banks, which is set to enhance their engagement with disabled-owned businesses.
It was great to see what has been achieved in 18 months, additionally the exciting developments of the Lilac Centre for Disabled Entrepreneurship.
It was a privilege to attend this event and we are excited to host more disabled entrepreneurs and supporting organisations at Naidex and Business without Barriers next year.
