Proprioception is your body’s internal GPS — essential for balance, control, and confident movement.

When it’s disrupted, movement can feel unsteady. The good news? It can be retrained through targeted neurorehabilitation and consistent practice.

At Neuro Revive Physiotherapy, we help rebuild that mind–body connection, one step at a time.

🧠 Brain Injury Awareness Month 💙

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month , a time to raise awareness, share knowledge, and support those living with brain injuries.

Every brain injury journey is different. Some are visible, many are not. Behind the scenes, people may be facing challenges with memory, fatigue, concentration, emotions, and daily tasks. Awareness helps build understanding, compassion, and better support for those affected.

At Neuro Previve Physio, we’re committed to helping individuals recover, adapt, and regain confidence through specialist neurological physiotherapy. Recovery is not always a straight line, but with the right support, progress is possible.

✨ Let’s use this month to:
• Increase awareness of brain injuries
• Support survivors and their families
• Encourage conversations about neurological rehabilitation
• Promote understanding of hidden disabilities

If you or someone you know is living with a brain injury, please know you are not alone.

✨ Sunday Reflections ✨

One of the most rewarding parts of neurological rehabilitation is seeing the progress people make.

Recently a patients family member shared how proud they felt of their Mom after regaining her sitting balance and the ability to stand with an aid after weeks of hard work in therapy. 💙

Small steps can lead to big milestones.

Thank you to everyone who trusts us with their rehabilitation journey.

Rehab doesn’t stop when you finish your therapy session !
These sit to stand variations are simple ways to build strength at home and make rehab part of your daily routine.
The best part? They can be progressed, regressed, or adapted to suit YOU — whether you’re just starting out or ready for more of a challenge.
👉 This isn’t medical advice — just some ideas to support your home rehab. Make sure you consult a qualified professional before starting.
Got questions? Want something tailored to you? Drop us a message and chat with one of the team.

Why repetition matters more than intensity in neuro rehab 🧠

In neuro rehab, progress doesn’t come from pushing harder.
It comes from repeating the right movement, again and again.

Your brain learns through practice , not exhaustion.

Every repetition:
• strengthens brain-body connections
• improves timing and coordination
• helps movements become more automatic

That’s why we often focus on:
✔️ smaller movements
✔️ slower progressions
✔️ lots of quality practice

Not because it’s “easy” but because it’s effective.

If a movement feels boring, repetitive, or unimpressive…
that usually means the brain is learning.

And on days when you feel tired or frustrated?
Repetition still counts. Even a few good reps matter.

Progress in neuro rehab isn’t about how hard you push.
It’s about how often you practice

Spasticity is increased muscle tightness caused by changes in the brain or spinal cord. Management may include education, splinting, stretching, weight-bearing exercises, and functional electrical stimulation (FES) to help reduce stiffness and improve movement. At Neuro Revive, we support patients with tailored education and individualised spasticity management. 💙

🧠 The Brain Lobes – Your brain has different areas (called lobes) that help you think, move, feel and understand the world around you 👇

🔹 Frontal Lobe
Helps with thinking, planning, emotions, behaviour and movement.
It’s important for things like concentration, decision-making and walking.

🔹 Parietal Lobe
Helps you feel touch, temperature and pain.
It also helps you know where your body is in space.

🔹 Temporal Lobe
Plays a big role in memory and understanding language.
It also helps with hearing and recognising faces.

🔹 Occipital Lobe
Helps you see and make sense of what you’re looking at 👀

If the brain is affected by a stroke, injury or neurological condition, these areas may not work as well — but with the right rehabilitation, improvement is possible 💙

At Neuro Revive Physiotherapy, we support people to rebuild skills, confidence and independence through neurological rehabilitation.
