HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS’ DAY to all the strong, inspirational and powerful women in all of our lives.

And to the wonderful women (and of course Dr Richard Mountford - we can't leave him out!) that keep 261 Dental Care ticking through day after day.

You all deserve praise.

✨Happy National Dentist’s Day✨

Today is about appreciating our dentists and raising awareness of good oral hygiene.

Keeping your pearly whites in top condition is really important as you get older. So we wanted to share some great tips:

1) Use an electric toothbrush: if used correctly, they are proven to be better than manual brushes.

2) Don’t rinse your mouth after brushing. This allows the fluoride in toothpaste to sit on your teeth for longer, therefore reducing the chances of decay.

3) Be sure to see us every 6 months, even when you don’t have any problems! We can spot little problems before they become big problems, and they are always much easier to fix.

Cheers to all the great dentists out there today

**COVID-19 UPDATE**

We hope that you have all been keeping safe and well.

With the new announcements made by the government to ease covid restrictions we would like to make all patients aware that there are no immediate changes to our infection control requirements.

This includes the requirement for staff, patients and visitors to wear a mask/face covering in the healthcare setting, unless exempt. We still have to observe social distancing within the practice where possible and when attending appointments you may be asked to wait outside, so please be prepared for this.

Kind regards
261 Dental Care.

** WE ARE OPEN**

Dear all 261 Dental Care patients

We hope that you have had a good Easter break. We are open and so if you need to contact us to arrange your dental examinations or hygiene appointments, or if you have an emergency situation- please do not hesitate to contact us.

As many of you have already experienced, we still have many restrictions in place, due to Covid-19. This may continue for some time yet, however it is all with the aim to keep us really safe from Covid-19.

We have received so many enquiries about routine examinations, appointments with the hygienist and also appointments for orthodontics. We are one of the dental practices that remained accessible throughout this pandemic and we hope to continue to help all of our patients. Often, the treatment takes some additional planning due to the restrictions upon us - but we get there! Please do contact us if you have any queries whatsoever so that we may guide you in the right direction.

Call us on 0121 747 2580 or email info@261dentalcare.com and one of the friendly team members will contact you back.

** WE REMAIN OPEN**

Dear 261 Dental Care Patients

We at 261 Dental Care hope you are staying safe and keeping well. Firstly, a very Happy New Year to you all, one which sees the UK general public facing difficult restrictions once again.

Following the prime ministers announcement tonight, please be reassured that all urgent and non urgent dental services will continue. Hygiene services will continue. Orthodontic services for patients already midway through treatment will continue. We also hope to resume orthodontic services for children that are currently placed on a waiting list very soon too - in line with current restrictions.

Dentistry is considered to be an essential service and we have a robust standard operating procedure and all the necessary PPE to ensure that our practice is safe for both staff and patients. You will feel reassured when you attend.

Due to current restrictions, we have to be very mindful of the numbers of patients allowed on site and certain dental appointments will have to take priority over others - as has been the case throughout 2020. You have all shown so much understanding over the limitations and restrictions upon us throughout 2020. Where we realise that it has been inconvenient if appointments have been rescheduled, it has also been essential to do this. Please do continue to support us with your understanding. We promise that we will continue to try our upmost to assist you with your dental care at this difficult time.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19, we would appreciate your efforts to delay your visit, cancel or reschedule your appointment if already booked in until you have recovered. Please do not attend in this situation. If you are otherwise fit and well, please do attend your appointment. You will receive a prescreening phone call from one of the friendly team members prior to your appointment.

If you have any concerns, please feel free to email the practice or call on 0121 747 2580.

Kind regards

261 Dental Care Remains Open- National Lockdown
Announcement 31st October 2020

We hope that you are all as well as can be at this current time. We have seen many of you since we reopened in June 2020, however, mainly due to strict restrictions upon us there are so many of you that we have not been able to see as yet.

This weekend, the government announced a second national lockdown due to the rising number of cases of Covid-19.

261 Dental Care will still be open. There are no restrictions with regards to medical treatment and you are actively encouraged to keep your appointments. At 261 Dental Care we have all the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and will continue to follow our high standards in cross infection control.

What next?

Please continue to attend your appointments. We have excellent infection control procedures along with a robust triaging policy to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

If you are worried about your attendance please contact us to discuss your concerns and we can always discuss and perhaps postpone your treatment till a later date.

When you arrive:

We advise that you wear a mask at all times while inside the dental practice and only remove your mask at the request of the dental professional. We will continue to check your temperature and if this is above 37.8 degrees Celsius, you will be advised to rebook your treatment and to follow government guidelines. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for an appointment due to social distancing guidelines.

As you enter the building you will need to use the alcohol disinfectant rub to disinfectant your hands.

The treatment rooms will be prepared prior to your appointment with all surfaces disinfected after each patient. The air exchange will continue to be needed throughout the day in each surgery in between appointments. We have continued to source PPE and have no shortage of it on site. We are proud to be able to provide a high level of service.

Since March 2020, PPE and COVID-19 restrictions have been an ongoing concern. We thank you all for being so supportive of our need to introduce COVID-19 related changes for the shortterm.

Please do not be concerned about attending 261 Dental Care as we continue to maintain high standards of cross infection control. If you are uncertain as to whether you should book in for your routine examination and routine hygienist visit, please just give us a call. We will suitably advise you as to what you should do.

Stay safe and please contact us on 0121 747 2580 if you have any questions. We are hear to help you. We will see how everything goes this week and contact you all again towards the end of the week with another update.

Hi everyone!

We are really pleased to tell you that 261 Dental Care will be opening on the 15th June 2020 for urgent and emergency appointments only. We will only be able to see a few patients a day so please do not attend the practice unless you have an appointment booked.

We are aiming to phase our reopening so are only able to see emergency and urgent patients initially. We have a limited number of appointments available and are only able to offer a small range of treatments at this time. Any emergency treatments that require us to use the highspeed drill (AGP procedures) will need to be referred to an urgent dental centre if suitable for the shortterm. It will still take some time before services return to normal - please continue to be patient with us!

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our surgery. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable.

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment:

· Our practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again at your appointment.

· We have hand sanitiser that we will ask you to use when you enter the practice. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the practice for you to use as needed.

· Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

· The dentist and nurse will already have the appropriate PPE on when you attend. Although you may not be able to recognise us with our PPE on, we are the same friendly team that have been looking after you previously.

· Reception will look different with a screen on the desk and a very empty waiting room.
We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

How you can help:

• With the exception of children and patients with carers, patients should come alone to the appointment.

• A distance of at least 2 metres must be observed if another patient is present in the dental practice.

• Payment should be made by card where possible and in advance over the phone, where this is not possible, please try to pay exact payment by cash.

• Staff will not greet you by shaking your hand.

• If you show any symptoms before your appointment you should contact the practice by phone.

• Please wait outside the practice or in your car, please let us know you are here by calling us or ringing our doorbell. And please wait where you are until you are called to attend your appointment.

• Please do not arrive at the practice without a booked appointment.

• Patients should come wearing a mask/face covering and please bring your own pen.

• Please use the toilet facilities at home before your appointment as they will not be available to use at the practice.

We will update you again when we are able to start seeing patients for more routine examinations and treatment. Thank you all for being so supportive

Kind Regards

Hi Everyone!

On Friday at 5pm we learned that dental practices are able to open from the 8th of June.

We are now preparing to make the practice an even safer environment for our patients and staff here at 261 Dental Care. Once all our additional safety standards are met we will commence opening up the diary for patients who immediately need our help and priority will be given to emergency patients and existing patients who were mid treatment and whose appointments were cancelled due to lockdown.

We will make strict changes to the booking system and how we carry out treatments to maintain patient and staff safety. We have been working for many weeks to source appropriate PPE which is in short supply around the UK and this may affect our opening date.

Although the government has announced practices to open on the 8th please bare with us as our priority is to keep staff and patients safe, this means 261 Dental Care and many other dental practices will officially open its doors once we have implemented all our changes. We are trying to get ready for the 8th of June but this may be delayed. We are still available at the other end of the phone for all emergency situations and we will continue to help you. We may still work alongside the urgent dental centres for some time in the future. This is all so that you can be treated really safely.

We will keep you informed of our phased opening plans and opening times.

We are very much looking forward to being able to care for our patients again.

Take care
The 261 Dental Care team

WE WILL BE BACK SOON.....

Due to the current outbreak of COVID-19 and the current government guidelines we are currently unable to work as normal, therefore we have made the difficult decision to close the practice for all routine appointments. We feel it is important and our responsibility to keep our valued patients and team safe.

We will however be maintaining a telephone system offering advice and trying to arrange emergency only appointments in one of the urgent dental centres until further notice.

We understand that this may cause inconvenience and may mean treatment timelines are extended. However, currently it is our priority to ensure everyone remains safe and we assure you we will do our upmost to continue with your treatment as soon as possible.

If your appointment needs to be postponed, we will be in touch in due course.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and patience.

We will continue to keep you updated as much as possible in this uncertain time and we look forward to welcoming you all back soon.

All the best,

261 Dental Care.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our lovely patients a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
