Sorry to share bad news for some but UHB trust (QE, Solihull, Heartlands and Good Hope) are cancelling their Elective procedures due to the lack of beds and staff due to the very high demand on services at the moment. Please use 111, GP or Pharmacies unless you have a genuine medical Emergency!

AED’s or “Defibs” are extremely easy to use and massively increase survival rates from cardiac arrest. Need emergency help - phone 999. What, no signal?!?!

Did you know that you can still get the help you need via text message?

To do so the phone number needs to be pre-registered with Emergency Services. Totally free, totally safe!

All you need to do is text Register to 112. That generates an immediate response, inviting you to read it then send a second text message with the word Yes to 999 (Don’t call it!)

A second message back then confirms that your number is now registered with emergency services.

In the event that you might need help & no signal available, simply text (or voice note) to 999 with the relevant information; exactly where you are, what has happened, what service(s) are needed.

If there is no signal available the text to 999 only uses the satellite systems to reach the call centre.

** this only works if the number is pre-registered with emergency services, don’t wait until you have the need!**
