Mods, music, and meaning behind it.

Back at The Night Owl for March of the Mods but this one carried a bit more weight. Nadia Dworkin amazing as always!

Proud to be there supporting Teenage Cancer Trust.

Good people, good energy, and a reminder that what we do can always be about more than just food.

On the grill:
The Quadrophenia Quarter
The Brighton Beach Bird
The Vegan Vespa Vibe

Big flavour. No shortcuts. Done properly.

Because whether it’s community sessions or a busy night like this the standard stays the same.

Food brings people together.
And nights like this show exactly why that matters.

Out in Rowley Regis this week supporting HAF provision with Creative Activities making sure what’s put in front of children is actually worth eating.

No shortcuts. No token gestures.

Freshly prepared sandwiches, fruit, proper sweet treats… and yes, something they’ll actually be excited to pick up and eat.
Lemon mousse, compote & yoghurt pots, scones with strawberries and cream simple food, done right.

Because this isn’t just about feeding children.
It’s about giving them a moment something that feels considered, balanced, and a bit special.

Food for Thought is about raising the standard of what community food looks like.
Consistent. Nutritious. Thought through.

And most importantly made with care.

If we’re doing it, we’re doing it properly.

What a powerful day celebrating neurodiversity alongside an incredible community.

Massive thank you to Super Sen CIC for not only creating spaces where families can feel seen and supported but for being there for me personally as a neurodivergent chef.

They’ve supported me in ways that go beyond programmes or projects. They’ve helped Food for Thought grow not just in capacity, but in confidence.

They’ve reminded me that different ways of thinking, feeling and creating are strengths, not barriers.

To be able to contribute food, connection and joy at events like this means a lot. Seeing happy families, relaxed environments and genuine acceptance is exactly why we do what we do.

Grateful to be part of something that feels real, purposeful and human.

Thank you to everyone who came, supported, volunteered and believed.
And thank you Super Sen for continuing to lead with heart.

Recent research has highlighted the impact of diet on ADHD symptoms in children, showing that cutting processed foods can reduce symptoms by up to 53% without the use of medication. Processed foods often contain high levels of sugar, artificial additives, preservatives, and unhealthy fats, which may influence behavior, attention, and mood.
In the study, children who shifted to a diet focused on whole, minimally processed foods including fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains demonstrated significant improvements in attention span, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Researchers suggest that stabilizing blood sugar levels, reducing exposure to synthetic additives, and improving overall nutrition may help regulate neurotransmitters and brain function.
While dietary changes are not a replacement for comprehensive ADHD management, they can serve as a valuable complementary strategy alongside behavioral therapies and lifestyle interventions. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to introduce gradual, sustainable changes and monitor children’s responses.
These findings emphasize the connection between nutrition and cognitive and behavioral health, suggesting that diet can play a measurable role in supporting children with ADHD. Focusing on whole foods may empower families to manage symptoms naturally while promoting overall health and wellbeing.

Really enjoying these sessions at the Dorothy Parkes Centre.

What starts as a cooking class quickly turns into something more people chatting, laughing, supporting each other and leaving with good food they’ve made themselves.

Food has a way of bringing people together. When you cook side by side, confidence grows, conversations open up and mental wellbeing improves without anyone even realising it’s happening.

Simple food. Good people. Lots of laughs.

Exactly what Food for Thought is all about.

Our first NeuroSpicy session is officially underway.

Delivered in partnership with Super SEN, funded by the Colebridge Trust and hosted at Solihull Family Hubs this felt like the start of something important.

Structured roles. Calm kitchen. Real skills. Real confidence building.

Watching young people step into responsibility, regulate through routine and take pride in what they created reminded me exactly why we do this.

Thank you to every organisation backing this work properly this is what community collaboration looks like.

Fake-Away for adults is in full swing at the Dorothy Parkes Centre in Smethwick and we genuinely love working alongside their team.

Week 1: Hake-Away fishcakes, crushed peas and proper tartar sauce.

Week 2: Butternut squash & cauliflower curry, handmade chapatis and fresh cucumber raita.

This isn’t a one-off class. It’s a six-week course building real confidence knife skills, seasoning, flavour understanding, and replacing the takeaway habit with “I can cook THAT myself”.

Proper adult learning. Practical. Supportive. Impactful.

Proud to deliver this in partnership with The Dorothy Parkes Centre
