🌼 Manor House Comes Together for the Great Daffodil Appeal 2026 💜
Last Wednesday morning, the lovely residents of Manor House Care Home , including John, Mary, Vera, Eileen, and Dorothy, joined staff members Angie, Tammy, and our deputy manager Dani for a truly special day of fundraising, fun, and community spirit!
The air was filled with laughter and warmth as homemade cakes, lovingly baked by Dani, were sold at our charity bake sale 🍰, while residents enjoyed taking part in the playful game “Where Did I Plant the Daffodil?” 🌱. Adding an extra touch of love, beautiful handmade daffodil brooches created by Barry’s daughter were also available to purchase, reminding everyone that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference 💛
This heart-warming event was part of the Marie Curie UK Great Daffodil Appeal, the charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign, taking place across the UK from March 1 to March 30, 2026. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the appeal 🎉, a campaign that has raised over £72 million since it began in 1986 to support people living with terminal illnesses and their families. Millions of people wear the daffodil pin 🌼 as a symbol of hope, renewal, and compassion, and volunteers across the country collect donations to fund expert nursing care and emotional support services ❤️
At Manor House, we are proud that our residents and staff could come together to support such a meaningful cause. Every cake bought, every daffodil pin worn, every smile shared, and every donation made contributes to helping people live their remaining days with dignity, comfort, and love 💜. Seeing our community united for this cause was truly inspiring, and it reminded us all that hope grows when we care for one another
Whether you are planting a daffodil, wearing a pin, volunteering, or donating, the Great Daffodil Appeal shows that every action counts. Manor House is thrilled to play a part in this nationwide campaign, celebrating hope, compassion, and togetherness one daffodil at a time 🌼
